Customers say
Customers appreciate the manual food mill grinder for its sturdy construction, fast grind speed, and nice design. They find it well-made, with a solid metal build that exceeds their expectations. The grinder has a sharp burr design that helps grind faster. It performs its job effectively, grinding fine or coarse coffee. While some customers appreciate the coarseness, coffee quality, and plastic parts, others have mixed opinions on ease of use.

Feels substantial, smooth, grinds well, very easy to use. Much better than my last manual!
This thing rocks. I like hand ground coffee, for some reason. I bought another one like this, for a simliar price, maybe $5 cheaper, but this one FAR exceeds that in build quality and overall feel. The aluminum is thicker, feels more substantial, smoother, grinds better, and just overall is BETTER. It’s hard to describe unless you’ve used a cheap manual grinder before, or you can put this in your hands and try it yourself. But trust me, this is a winner, if you want a manual hand grinder and don’t want to spend $100. Highly recommend!

No plastic parts
I’ve been trying to reduce the plastic in items that I use daily and I wanted a quality coffee grinder. So, I started watching videos and reading recommendations and my heart sank. The Timeore C2/C3 was already expensive and it has plastic in it and with the 1zpresso it was starting to get even more expensive. Then I stumbled across this grinder and pulled the trigger on the black one. What a beautiful grinder. My version has the little squares around the top part and is quite grippy. The first thing that popped into my mind while unscrewing the bottom was that it was built like a camera lens. Precision machining.I started to grind some coffee to clean out any residues since the instructions say not to wash the shaft. I ground some very fine coffee, which was a bit of work. After that I tried various settings to find one for my pour-over. I was impressed by the uniformity of the grounds and I love the settings wheel on the top. For my purposes, I’m grinding the coffee a bit coarser and the grinding is very easy and fast.I also got an allen wrench to check the shaft – nice and tight.Thank you for providing such a high-quality, affordable coffee grinder without plastic. It makes great cups of coffee and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Totally worth it
I had been using a cheap hand grinder for many, many years. You might have seen it, aluminum cylinder with a little window on the grounds cup. My biggest concern about this one is that the handle is attached to the cap and I was afraid that it would tip over. When I opened the package, my first reaction was how heavy it is. This thing isn’t tipping over because of a little extra weight at the top. It took a while to set the grind (cone filter, one full revolution from closed and then a little before 2.5 is my setting) but the results are impressive. All of the grounds are about the same size. There’s a ball bearing in the shaft that makes it easy to turn the handle. The burr is sharp and the grinding process is so much quicker than the cheap grinder. Wish I had purchased this years ago.

Do not Recommend, Jams Constantly, Takes Forever
I only used this grinder about four times before it kept constantly having the grounds get stuck to the burrs and have to be a disassembled after every use. Even when it was working it takes forever to grind any coffee beans through it. I did not use any water on it but I do not recommend this over a cheaper blade grinder like what Shardor sells for $20. The only thing this grinder has going for it is that it looks nice.

Drip yes / espresso no
This unit is impressive in terms of finish and quality. However, when it comes to fine grinding for espresso it takes 200 revolutions to get enough grounded coffee for a double espresso. I ajusted the the grinder and then did four trials with two different types of coffee. I did this because it seemed to take a long time to grind the coffee., The result was more or less the same, 200 turns to get the needed coffee,. Compared to my other manual grinder at 40 revolutions, I will have to find another unit for the cottage since I returned this one.

Better than advertised, not without flaws
Been looking for a manual coffee grinder. I used to have a Hario years ago. Details have improved with manual coffee grinders since, such as metal construction, bearings, multiple supports for less shaft wobble, and improved burr design. All those areas are where the Hario was lacking. This solves all of this. I was hoping to get into espresso but suggested grinders are $$$. On the cheaper options, I was concerned about range of grind. Either the product description is outdated, or they have improved the product without telling anyone. There are SIX clicks per number on the dial. There are 12 numbers per round. So 72 clicks per round. I took a caliper to a surface i could measure, and compared a full round, then divided by 72. Approximately 1.02 mm total travel for a full round. 0.014167 mm per click. ~14 microns per click. As to a five to seven sided burr, it seems the more sides, the faster you will grind. Since this is a smaller burr than the more expensive grinders, the greater sides helps with grinding faster.Construction is fine, sturdy. Easy to clean and spins freely with little resistance. Upon disassembly, resetting the holding nut does change where your zero is, depending on how tight you make it. And i did catch it moved once. But that may have been my error.Only downside is that the coarsest it seems to grind is for pourover. Espresso, moka, pourover, this will do just fine.Shoutout to Sam for their extensive review. It helped me make a decision to purchase this. I’m hoping to add to this and help anyone else looking for a cost effective coffee grinder.

well made.
I have had numerous coffee grinders including multiple hand grinders. This grinder exceeded my expectations for its construction, grind quality and grinding speed. The grinder is machined out of aluminum and all of the parts fit and work well. I have ground lite and dark roasted beans and it grinds them all consistently and efficiently. It will easily hold a 1/4 cup of beans for grinding. I haven’t used the largest grind setting, because I don’t need it but have used the settings up to 48, in this case the second 24. The kind settings are indicated 1-24, but you can spin the setting dial 3 rotations to achieve up a setting of 72. This is the best hand grinder I have purchased.
