Es muy dificil encontrar un cafe descafeinado que tiene sabor fuerte. Â¡Este si que lo es! Tiene sabor fuerte y “afumado”.Pero carece un poco de aromas y sabor “chocolate”, el sabor que quiero como pecado…Mi gusto es un cafe espresso, de estilo “Cortado”, hecho con cafe bien tostado.Para mi cafe CON cafeina, prefiero L’OR Espresso Colombia. Un cafe bien tostado, pero tiene muchisimo sabor de chocolate con suficiente acidez. Â¡Dicen “Tangy”!Antes de este cafe descafeinado, mi favorito fue Mercadona Descafeinado. Tiene buen sabor, pero carece de fuerza. Â¿Mas bien cremoso?Â¡Entonces yo he empezado a hacer mi propio “mezcla-descafeinado”!1,7 gramos de L’OR Espresso Colombia – es cafeinado, pero solamente 10% de todo… (Tengo tension, no puedo aÃ±adir mas) El “Chocolate de Cafe”3,3 gramos de ESTE Lavazza DEK – 19% – para su fuerza y sabor afumadoEl resto – 12 gramos de Mercadona DescafeinadoEn total 17 gramos para un Espresso Doble para aÃ±adir 90 gramos de Leche de Almendras pre-calentado, y un poco de azucar…Un Cafe con Fuerza, Un poco de “Chocolate”, y suficiente amarguez. Â¡Mucho sabor! Â¡Buenisimo!Hasta que las tiendas danos el poder de elegir nuestro sabor “descafeinado”, como pueden con los “Cafes CON Cafeina”, es el mejor que yo he encontrado…Â¡Hay que probar tu propio “mezcla-descafeinado”!

This is about the best decaf you can buy as beans, at a sane price at least. But it can be improved.If you don’t mind a dash of caffein in the mix — just a little, not enough to cause problems, then try mixing one 500g pack of Lavazza DEK decaffeinated Coffee Espresso Beans with one 250g tin of illy Espresso Classic Roast Coffee Beans (so two decaf to one caffeinated).So one of these: Lavazza DEK decaffeinated decaffeinated Coffee Espresso 500g Beans, and one of these: illy Espresso Classic Roast Coffee Beans 250gPour the pack and the tin into a large bowl, mix more than you would have thought (takes quite a bit of mixing), then pour back into the tins (you’ll have enough tins once you’ve done this a couple of times).Makes for a superb, really low caffein coffee that tastes as good as the illy caffeinated (which is saying something), but is light enough in caffein that you can drink it when you’d normally have a decaf.

Best decaf I’ve found
I’ve done a lot of comparisons with different coffee for my espresso and cappuccinos, and for decaf, this is by far the best for me. I use a vintage Braun flat parallel plate 1980’s vintage grinder on the finest setting, and feed that into my Philips fully automatic 4300, just so you know my setup (after lots of trials and different settings). I keep my Philips loaded with my caffeinated coffee beans, and use the grind bypass for decaf.This tastes fuller, a bit more of an after taste and a little smokier than my standard go-to caffeinated Lavazza Ultra Crema Barista, which I have settled on for my first / second coffee of the day. That is my reference, so so you know what I’m basing this review on.Taste is highly subjective, but for me, this is as good as it gets for a decaf for espresso.

Great decaf espresso.
I have been mixing this with a local roaster’s dark roast espresso beans (Alakef Espresso Primo) for a wonderfully balance 50/50 blend. Been using it for years.

Perfect espresso every time!
I use the Lavazzo beans to make espresso in my Breville espresso machine. The machine shows the pressure, so I can make sure that the beans perform well. These beans are consistent every time! I’ve tried other brands, and I could never get the pressure to be consistent. These taste great and work every time!

Good Decaf Espresso, wife really likes it too, does require grind dialing as any new bean would
This bean does have a clearly distinctive taste from the LavAzza Super Crema, which is an exceptional bean IMO. I wasn’t sure what to expect for a decaf, but this bean is comparable to any caffeinated bean I’ve tried, I happen to like the super crema a bit better, but I think my wife was actually on the fence (tastes will vary of course). This bean does seem to require a bit coarser of a grind than the super crema, but only took me about 4 shots to get it dialed in.
