Wow! I ‘m really enjoying these two new flavors. I started out with the Caffe Crema espresso blend only, since that was the capsule that was my introduction to Lavazza in a hotel recently. But I did get a bit tired of it and stopped brewing it unless needing a quick espresso in the afternoon. But after reading others’ reviews, I wanted to try TOP and GOLD. They did not disappoint! I had two lovely lungos this morning and a smile on my face.Might just try third with a little biscuit. Of the two, the GOLD was my preferred, but I’ve only had it once. The TOP has a slightly carmel-y chocolatey undertone. I never thought I’d find satisfaction from a capsule espresso- being brought up on “still warm from the roaster” beans and all the elite taste opinions this engenders…. so I don’t know how to explain my conversion. But I find most roasts in coffee shops and the barista’s delivery very disappointing – and the lack of precise language to describe just exactly how I want my $5-9 beverage made is really letting me down. What’s so hard about ” doubleshot with foam and a TINY bit of milk (just enough to take the edge off the coffee) in the smallest cup you have” ? Then mostly I am handed an 8 oz cup filled to the top with with warm milk and foam…some say macchiatto some say cortado with, milk, some say cappuccino….I give up- just let me do it myself, and the latest purchase from Lavazza is making me happy for the time being.Now, a month later, I am reaching for the TOP (red top) pods, leaving the others in the drawer. I am ordering more of TOP only. Really good espresso/lungo.
