Great taste and high quality kombucha!
I liked kombucha after having tried a commercial product. Ever the experimenter, I wondered if I could make it at home. I was looking on Amazon for a glass container, could not find it under sun tea jars and entered kombucha. This starter kit came up and I thought why not? The flavor is outstanding, very crisp and not as acidic as I thought. I basically made it for a friend who loves it and she really enjoys the gallons I make. Instructions were easy and I was happy to get the starter from a reputable source.

Price way to high for a small cut off a scoby.
My kombucha is brewing at the moment so i cant tell you if i got a good scoby or not. What i can tell you is that i was not happy with the contents of my starter kit. I was expecting a full scoby not a 1″ cut square of one! Nowhere did i see that is what i would be getting. Before i ordered i went on their website and looked at what they were calling a scoby. It looked fine to me but what i got was something completely different. I hope it works is all i can say at this point. I would not buy from this company again mainly because i feel if that is the way they do business how was this scoby (or small cut of one) grown. The teat was o.k. but i could have bought a much higher grade of tea for a lot lot less. I am not a first time brewer and honestly i wish i would have just asked one of my friends for a free one. I would have gotten a much better deal and a higher quality scoby.

Awesome! I just bottled my first batch of Kombucha from this kit, and it’s delicious. I used plain old regular tea for the first batch because I didn’t want to waste the pear ginger tea if I screwed it up, and even that tastes great! And it turns out it’s not that hard to brew, so batch #2 is fermenting away with the pear ginger tea and it’s smelling fantastic!To the reviewers who complained about it being not a full SCOBY – who cares? It’s a starter kit, you’re going to grow your own SCOBY. I’ve already got a healthy full sized SCOBY from my first batch, plus two babies forming in smaller jars to give to friends.And at under $12, it’s not exactly breaking the bank, especially since it comes with a huge bag for brewing a gallon (or more) of tasty flavoured tea. Considering the price of ready-made ‘Booch, it’ll pay for itself with the first batch.

This had a great flavor of pear and ginger, and I’ve been using the scobies that formed from this starter ever since. I’ve even given some away. Some of my other batches using other starter kits didn’t turn out, but so far this brand is my favorite!

The little square of “starter” came in a sealed pack and I let it rest. A few days later I brewed some THAI tea, mixed in some pure cane sugar, the “little guy” “scoby, covered w. a towel and left it in peace. Today, scoby has spawned at least 3 children and PAPA SCOBY is the size of a frisbee. I take him out of fluid and give him a good washing under cold water, he has specks of THAI tea all over and has about 10 layers of growth. I swear he has a personality. I treat him like a favorite guest in the house. He just chugs along in his new home producing “kids”. I will do business with this seller again. Thank you for the joy.
