Lucky Bucker. Our lucky stars were the ones he saw. Way back when in the Rockies, explorer Jim got a swift dose of horse-hoof to the head. Thought dead, legend says a kick-ass cup woke him up. Happily struck with coffee luck!

    Best Coffee
Lucky Jim is my favorite coffee blend. The whole lineup is really good, too. I have had many brands and flavors and this one is really the best. I occasional will try other brands but nothing I have had is as good as this.

A sweet deal and great coffee too
Not my usual brand, but the deal I got was too good to resist. I am surprised. The taste is rich and full. I really like this coffee and will no longer doubt sweet deals like this.

    Acidic old beans
I have loved many of the different Kicking Horse coffees but “Lucky Jim” was horrible. First time that I got this type and it had a distributor label over expiration date. Couldn’t read date when label peeled off. Bought two bags when a good price offered. Never again.

    Nothing to write home about
I was expecting a much richer coffee given the reviews. It’s OK, but nothing more than that. I know of much better coffees in this price range, so I won’t be buying this again.

    MId-tier medium roast
Edit: Lowering score to two stars after finishing bag. I was beyond ready to be done with Lucky Jim less than halfway through the enormous 35 oz bag. Coffee should be a highlight of your morning, not an obligation! I would try other Kicking Horse offerings in smaller bags.—–While the price is certainly right for the sheer volume of beans in today’s economy, this Medium Roast is decidedly middle-of-the-road with no real distinguishing characteristics or notes. It’s a fairly dry roast that compares apples-to-apples with your bottom-shelf & widely-available grocery store offerings (think 8 O’Clock’s selections). So sure, Lucky Jim is perfectly –fine–, but you can do better on flavor (and mouthfeel, and aroma) at a similar price. And if you really don’t care what you’re drinking, you can scratch around for a better deal in the ~2lb bag arena. My vote: if you’re invested in “the daily grind” (of beans), treat yourself to a better cup in the morning and move on to the next bag!

my girlfriend and I are now regularly buying Lucky Jim and Kick Ass versions of the coffee. I still like a lighter roast with a bit more citrusy flavour during the summer months but during fall and winter when you need something a bit more cozy Lucky Jim is a good roast!

Easy 5 star for price and quality but minus 1 star for one bag being punctured. Ordered 20lbs of assorted roasts and most were good but 3 bags came punctured. Not a huge deal but unhelpful for storage purposes.’Best before’ dates from 7-9 months in the future.

I love Lucky Jim coffee. It’s smooth, yet robust and doesn’t leave that bitter coffee aftertaste.Highly recommend Lucky Jim.

Very good coffee! I like most roasts of kicking horse coffee, but this one is probably my favorite.
