Really Good Coffee Beans
I was looking for Swiss Water Decaf, Certified Organic, Fairtraded, Bold Flavor coffee beans. Accidentally, I ordered the Kicking Horse “454” regular coffee beans with caffeine, and decided to try, even though I knew my cardiologist wouldn’t be happy. My procedure is to grind 3 tablespoons of beans, enough for two 6 oz. cups, per day. Then I use the Keurig reuseable K-cups. I’m basically a 2-cup-a-day drinker, and at this point I have had 18 cups to base this review on, with about a half-dozen cups remaining in the 10oz bag.Really Great Bold Flavor without any enhancements (black)!! The flavor is consistent with the high reviews this coffee has received. Since, I have enhanced it with a pump shot of Jordan’s Skinny Syrups Sugar Free Mocha flavor, and it is even better!!It was not the least expensive (Amazon has some beans at $.86/oz at regular price) but at $9.99 for 10 ounces this is still a bargain especially considering that local roasters usually want around $17 for a 12 oz bag. My small criticism is why not standard 12oz bags versus their 10oz bags?I have already ordered the Kicking Horse decaf beans for when this bag runs out!!

Better than grizzly claw
I read an amazon review in which the customer compared grizzly claw vs. 454. He said 454 has better flavor than grizzly claw. As I wasn’t fully satisfied with the grizzly claw, I gave it a try for 454.Yes, I agree with him/her that the 454 has better flavor. It’s more fresh and smooth, deep flavor, less bitter.

A bit disappointed. but worth a second try.
I purhased 454 whole beans.The over-earthy flavor is missing from here which is fantastic. However, as others have stated, mine has a plastic taste that’s hard to identify. Others have associated this with freshness issues.When this bag is done, I be plan to try a second time. ð¤I wish I could verify 100% that it is due to freshnsss issues, but cannot. The bag ripped immediately and I transfered the contents. Before I thought to check the date, the trash was outside in the tote.

It’s great coffee.Like everything else, coffee is getting more expensive and that’s fine – you have to shop around a bit to find a decent offering.I ended up with a half-pound of coffee ordered within my expected price range for that amount and was surprised by that because I was sure I had ordered a full pound.Looking at the order, I realized they deliberately offered a “new blend” which has been called “454 Horsepower,” ensuring it appears in searches that are meant to find a full pounds/454 (eg “whole bean coffee 454”)Get bent, Kicking Horse – I guess I’m making do with Jumping Bean from now on – it’s priced reasonably, almost as good, and they don’t try to deceive me.
