Good, yes. Worth it, you decide.
i have been getting this coffee for a while now as a subscription but recently noticed the price went up quite a bit. so as i am prone to do i started looking into it. Kona coffee is produced on a very limited region of the big island and only coffee there is allowed to be called Kona. this region has the proper rich volcanic soil, lots of rainfall and still a dry season which all contribute to its cultivation as one of the best coffees on earth. Many Hawaiian coffees are a blend of some Kona and some other Hawaiian grown coffees. this product is a blend of 10% Hawaiian, and 90 % unknown. i could probably find the actual details but just from the packaging its only 10% Hawaiian. to me this means they are using the Hawaiian as a selling point, likely sourcing the rest form some area where laborers are paid much less(most coffee producing areas are this way) now i wont deny this makes a good cup of coffee, but i cant justify paying the current asking price which is now comparable to 100% Kona when there are very similar blends for a fraction of the cost.

Best deal I could find on whole bean Kauai Coffee. I know it’s only 10%, but it’s still got that Hawaii coffee flavor and kicks any offering Starbucks has right in their burnt nether region.

Found this brand on Amazon and Iâm so glad I gave it a shot! Itâs smooth and delicious. Going to try some of their other flavors. Definitely good value

Smooth and Mellow Taste
I see a lot of coffee purists and/or coffee afficionado’s are upset that it is only 10% Hawaiian coffee. I don’t get bothered by that as long as the taste is good and this coffee is delicious! Plus it keeps the price lower. No bitterness in this batch. My first pot was made too strong and it was still a mellow flavor without any bitterness. Today’s pot was made perfectly and it could not taste any better. Where ever they are getting the other 90% of their coffee, it still better than most coffees I have tried. The flavor profile is definitely not nutty or chocolaty but has more of a floral note. It is a true medium roasted coffee bean, so a little goes a long way. One thing I can’t answer is whether this company is consistent with their beans. I buy a medium whole bean coffee from my local supermarket and it is usually the best coffee for the money but as of late the beans have been really light roasted and I have to double the amount of coffee to get the right flavor. If this company is consistent with their roast, they will get my business.
