Great products and customer service
Everything arrived quickly and packaged well! I had never made Jun or Kombucha in my life before this, so this was my first time purchasing a kit such as this. Right away I brewed my green tea, let it cool enough to add the raw honey without killing off the good honey bacteria and added the SCOBY to start my first batch of Jun. Today was the 8th day and the flavor was too my liking so I bottled it! It’s smooth and just a nice balance of tangy and sweet. As for the customer service of Fermentaholics, they were very responsive and helped me through my initial worries, answering questions I had about why my SCOBY wasn’t floating etc. These pictures were taken on the 4th day of my fermentation and are the ones I sent to Fermentaholics support, which they reviewed and told me to pay no mind to the position of the scoby during fermentation; your SCOBY may sink, float, or hover in the middle. The position isn’t important and shouldn’t be used as an indicator of the health of your brew. I was also unsure if I was reading the litmus paper test and determining the pH correctly since the colors don’t match up exactly. They confirmed in the 1st photo that the pH was good and shows that it was between 3.5 and 3; showing that fermentation was taking place.I just started my 2nd batch using the same SCOBY and am also doing a 2nd fermentation on some of the Jun from my 1st batch.Overall this was a great purchase! I couldn’t be happier!!

Great for my first kombucha kit but they fail to mention you can reuse the scoby for future batches.
This was a great first kit for a newbie kombucha enthusiast. But I’m big into transparency, and when I later researched the subject and saw that a scoby can be reused for years, I felt a bit disillusioned and misled. I had ended up buying 3 of these kits before I took the time to research the ‘scoby’ history. Once I did so, I started reusing the ‘scoby’ from the kit(s) and found how resilient these amazing bacteria disks can be. I opted to go with an organic ‘honey’ Jun continuous brew process for optimum health as I am also a beekeeper of three hives. I wanted optimum health and an all organic process. So I did need a ‘Jun’ scoby nourished on honey, and when it arrived I was actually disappointed in the tiny, almost invisible disk. I came an inch away from sending it back. I truly expected a ‘mother’ and I know the difference. They sent me a baby beginner ‘scoby’, so I was not happy with that. But it has thrived in a two gallon continuous jug and grown an additional large ‘mother’ scoby to boot. This tells me all businesses are alike, out to take your money instead of educating you properly on the benefits of reusing a product. I didn’t like feeling used and abused by the company, but greed has a way of transforming someone with good intentions into the traditional unpleasant rich moguls we see in today’s society. I would expect more transparency and honesty, especially when it comes to a food product or health situation, like this. As it was I had to return one kit due to bad leakage and improper sealing. Another concern for those of us seeking optimum health in this field. We are dealing with ‘bacteria’, so when mailing, make sure it is sent in a well-sealed package. Again, these are things the company should hone up on, as they are dealing in a ‘food’. If exposed to outside air, bacteria, etc. someone could get very sick. Come on, guys, get your stuff together. Success has a way of changing people. Anyway, once I discovered how easy it is to create ‘scobies’ I thought I, too, could get rich on this good-bacteria concept. But alas, I have better things to do with my time, like staying healthy by making my own scobies from this point forward. As for a starter kit, it worked. As for sanitation and transparency, they flunked! Overall, I would recommend this for a new kombucha beginner, but not for a continuous purchase. Don’t keep plunking money into something you can do yourself once you have a scoby. Just grow your own, put them in a gallon jar, feed sweet tea to keep them going, and avoid the middle man.

Great product
I like how easy the kit is to use and how it comes with everything necessary to get started. I’ve made my first 2 batches now with wonderful results! The flavor is great and the fermentation is quick and easy compared to other fermentation I’ve done.
