This was my first bad experience with an Amazon purchase and I am so disappointed. I shop weekly using my Amazon prime, and I buy almost everything online. When the item arrived, it was much larger and heavier than I was expecting. I needed it to seal small cookie bags. Yes, I ordered the 16 inch, but it’s just bulky and heavy and not something that’s easy to move around every week and tuck away when not in use. This item was not what I wanted, so I asked for a return. The seller did grant my request, but at my expense. I do not frequently return items, and thought that PRIME allowed free returns. I was disappointed to learn that’s not the case, but when I went to ship the item, it was going to cost me more than half the cost of the item. So I emailed the seller and asked if they would pay return shipping if I did an exchange for the smaller 8 inch sealer. They said no that was not an option. So now I’m stuck with a large heavy item that I hate.Now, since I’m stuck with the item, I used it this weekend to seal my Halloween cookie orders. The item does not work the way I expected at all. At this point I wouldn’t even want the 8 inch sealer. The cutter does not cut the bags easily, or neatly. The heat settings are not consistent. My cookie bags either didn’t seal, or the heat was too much and it melted the bag. If I found the right setting, it didn’t last. After 2 or 3 bags of sealing “okay” it started messing up again.I do not recommend this item, or purchasing from this seller, at all.

Works great for Cookies BUT itâs big and heavy
I had purchased a regular sealer on Amazon first which it worked great, but then I saw this one cuts as well so I was sold. Itâs very large and heavy duty compared to my other one. And it was a little hard to slide the cutter when I first started BUT I have sealed 3 dozen cookies with it so far and I feel the slider is sliding a lot easier now that it is a little more warn in. So I think itâs worth the money. I also feel the seal it makes is wider than the other sealer I have to. So Iâm happy with this purchase!

Great Tool
This sealer is easy to use and durable. I seal bags full of fluid and with the width of the base I am able to keep the liquid where I need it and get the seal really close to the line. The cutting feature is helpful as well.

Great value, works great
I was skeptical on this machine since it was so cheap. But this thing works great. Right out of the box I used it for poly bagging 288 hats. I would say there were some minor problems, but nothing a little trial and error couldnât fix. I do wish there was a graph on density of bags to use for each heat setting, but this was more than half the price of the commercial ones I was being sold. Definitely recommend.

Seals well but cutter is a waste
I agree with the other reviewers that the cutter does not work very well, which is disappointing since it significantly adds to the cost of the unit. The heat sealing portion works fine but the cutter is very flimsy and loose that it actually cut/damaged the teflon tape that sits over the heating element so now it’s slightly exposed and there’s a loose flap of teflon tape. The blade that comes with it also did not cut the bags very wells; some worked okay others just took several cuts and got mangled, probably due to the looseness of the blade.

Works Great With Thick Mylar Bags
After starting the fun hobby of prepping for chaos on the earth (thanks Doomsday Preppers!), I began loading Mylar bags with food for long term storage. Prior to buying this impulse sealer, I was using a hair straightener and having modest luck with that. It was difficult to get an even seal without applying too little or too much heat. This wasn’t working for me anymore, so I started looking for a better option.I noticed the company called Harvest Right, which produces home Freeze Dryers and associated products, offered a nice looking impulse sealer in their store. It was priced at $130, so I figured I’d try to find a cheaper alternative. After some browsing on Amazon, I found this – the exact same product for a much better price.This sealer works great! You place the bag in, press down, and it heats up immediately and shuts down after just enough time. The seal is very strong, and the bags will stretch out before the seal even starts to budge. I definitely recommend this product for use with Mylar bags. Make sure you leave enough room in the bag to fold the top over for insertion into the sealer, or it will be tough to seal the bag correctly.
