    Great scope
Was concerned at first because of some of the reviews, but after it arrived all concerns vanished. It’s well made and the spring tension is about perfect. But I don’t even open it, I scope the coffee into it closed and it usually fills it to the right amount. Coffee pours out smooth and even so you can easily controll the amount of coffee you want.

Durable; a little difficult to scoop
As a female with reasonably strong hands (for a 64 year old), I have no trouble opening and closing this scoop. Unlike some reviews, this product arrived in very clean condition in clean packaging (but of course, I washed it prior to use). While I cannot open it and have it fit inside my coffee canister (see last sentence of this review), I found it better leave the scoop closed and merely scoop my ground coffee up through the top opening. This scoop holds a little more coffee than will fit into my reusable stainless steel single serve coffee pods, but it’s easy to simply scoop up less coffee. Because it is steel, it is more durable than a plastic coffee scoop I also bought. The opening on top of this product easily fits reusable coffee pods so there is no mess on my countertop. I would prefer a model that allows me to scoop ground coffee from a jar with a smaller opening. This scoop doesn’t fit easily into my ground coffee container so I prefer scoops that have an open top and a trap opening on the bottom.

Works pretty well- does not fit well in coffee bag
The spoon works well as intended. The metal is strong and sturdy. However it is hard to open the scoop at the same time as scooping out the coffee in a bag. The product probably works better for coffee in cans.

    I use it a lot!
I have used this almost every day for the past three years and it is still going strong. It is one of my most used and valued kitchen doodads. It took a bit to get the hang of it: How to scoop the right amount, and how to get the coffee to flow out without overfilling my reusable k-cup filter. Overall, I’m happy I bought this. It comes in really handy, and I’m glad it was invented!Edit: 2025 and still going strong, still using it every day. Love this coffee scooper.

First One Was Filthy and Corroded Out of Box
UPDATE:I took a gamble and got a replacement, it was still covered in fingerprints on the “protective coating” but at least this one wasn’t covered in other mysterious substances and corrosion. I had to wash it 2 times with dishsoap to get most of the fingerprints off it, and I went ahead and boiled it before using it just in case.Aside from all that and what I said previously, it does work well for refilling my k-cup so I bumped it up from 1 star to 3. I’d still warn you to not have high expectations for getting something you can use out the box.————It seems like it would be a durable and useful product if it hadn’t arrived filthy, covered in a strange white powder with a bunch of fingerprints, and with a ton of corrosion on the inside of the scoop. The box was still sealed when I got it so someone obviously had to repackage this like everything was ok. I think I’ll try my luck with one of the plastic scoops after I return this disappointment.

Great little product for those reusable k-cups.
Works as advertised and is Stainless Steel, not cheap plastic.

    Well–that’s dumb.
I read the description of this product and thought the scoop would hold just the right amount to fill my Keurig reusable cups. Great! No more coffee all over the counter from everyone trying to get the cup filled to just the right level with a normal coffee scoop! This scoop actually holds way more than what will fit in a K-cup, so if you fill it and turn it upside down over the cup, it will overflow all over the place. Then if you try to turn it into your cup and just dispense part of it, it will stick a bit in the scoop, you will tap the scoop to finish filling the cup, a big clump will let loose and you will again spill coffee all over the place. Ok, try to just fill the scoop partway. You can’t really see how much is in the scoop or gauge how to fill it partially as it scoops by “grabbing” coffee into the 2 halves. So basically, it is useless for filling a traditional K-cup perfectly, and you will still have coffee all over the place, so you may as well go back to your original scoop. Waste of money.

It works just like they said it would.
It works just like they said it would. It’s simple, lightweight, not really sturdy, but it doesn’t need to be heavy duty to accomplish the task.
