Beans hange up in the hopper.
It’s quiet and does a great job grinding. It continues to continue beans up in the hopper and it does spread dust around the grinder.

I have owned three different burr grinders and all of them were a problem … too loud, too messy (static electricity scattered everything in every direction no matter what I tried to do). Then, after sending back a Breville that ground okay but blew coffee everywhere, I found several of these little gems. It seems that the machine is made for different brand names. I ordered one and I am happpy with it. Flip a simple toggle switch, cound to whatever number you need, it grinds 16 grams of fine for my esperesso machine. It is quieter than any machine I have used. It is cleaner to use than all of the others. It has an odd design for the bean hopper, so it stops grinding every once in a while and I have to shake it. Static electricity disappeared once I changed to this machine, which has mostly steel parts with some plastic that does not get a chance to generate static. Cheap (about half of what the Breville I tried), EFFICIENT (we grind espresso and drip every morning), QUIET … a little whirr … I love it. A burr grinder doesn’t needd to be complicated, sophisticated or snobbish. This simplifies my existence on planet earth.

I absolutely love this grinder so far I’ve been using it for about a week now and it does everything from pour overs to espresso. However the machine does make a mess with the grinds I do wish it came with some sort of shield or funnel for dosing cup. But I couldn’t be happier with this grinder would recommend!

Use almost daily
Have owned this for over a year. Works great. Use the coarse setting for our French Presses almost every day. Once or twice it got a bean in sidewise and then we had to remove the hopper and turn it upside down to get the bean turned. But the unit has not failed and it is quite. It is also heavy so does not wander around the counter as others have said some grinders do. I’m happy with it.

Good quality overall
So the motor base is metal, nice and heavy. Well Constructed. The grind size is easily adjusted on the front of the machine. I wish the words on the dial were colored so they would be easier to read against the chrome finish. The hopper is decent size but would be better if they offered a larger hopper to hold more beans. The power button is on the rear of the base. Kind of a weird place to put it. Would have been more user friendly on the side. The only real improvement I think they missed on was, if the below the (what they call the powder cup) was a built in scale to measure the amount of coffee grounds. There is no timer to set to run the grinder to get “x” number of grams of coffee grounds. The machine has to be stopped, powder cup removed, weighed and put back in the machine to get the correct weight of ground coffee per cup of hot coffee. It’s kind of a production every night to fill the hopper, pull the kitchen scale out, zero it out with the empty powder cup on it then grind some beans, pull the cup out, weigh it and repeat until you hit your desired weight of grounds. If the scale was built into the base it could save a lot of hassle. The machine is fairly quiet. Seems to grind the beans to a consistent size and hasn’t clogged so far. As far as some reviewers’ complaints of it creating a mess of grounds, I found as long as you placed the powder cup correctly, it was a non issue. Overall I am glad I spent the extra money and stopped using my electric spice grinder.

Old school scores again!
Finally, a grinder that looks like what it is. An old school, simple hefty design like I remember in the old days. Easy to understand and use. You can take it apart with a screw driver to deep clean it or replace parts. Its functional, accurate to adjust for grind size, faster and much, much, much quieter than others. If you enjoy rugged simplicity and want to grind really good quality coffee beans, I highly suggest getting one of these.

Nice Coffee grinder but..
The plastic hopper is a little weak, It broke after 2 years of use. I do like the grinder part though, so I built a Mahogany hopper for it.
