This replaced a tried and true iced tea maker I had for 15 years, and I was skeptical that it could brew iced tea as well as my old dinosaur maker. But this one is more than up to the task. Tea brews quickly and being able to control the intensity of the brew allows me to make the perfect batch. It’s fairly compact and doesn’t take up too much counter space. Cleanup is easy; especially with the built in filter system it has.

Secondly, and most importantly, the item had been used and was not cleaned. Will add this seller to my no buy list.

You will need to also purchase a 220v to 120v converter that’s at least 700w capable.

I waited so I could use it until I made my review. I am happy to say I have made 4 pitchers of delicious iced tea with zero problems of any kind. It’s true, as others have pointed out, that the tea maker isn’t super high quality as far as its construction goes, it’s cheap plastic but it works and I am not unhappy with the purchase so far. The tea tastes excellent, it makes tea super quickly, I have used teabags and even added a little iced tea mix from Lipton that I poured right over the tea bags and not a trace of it was left in the filter basket after brewing. I was so happy that this item arrived in a box and everything was there. Prior to this purchase I bought a Mr Coffee Iced Tea Maker from 2 different places, Amazon and Walmart. The Amazon merchant just threw the tea maker in a box with no manual, no pitcher, I think it may have been used, I was outraged, so I tried Walmart, they sent it in the original manufacturers box but when I opened it once again no pitcher! Couldn’t believe it happened twice so I was nervous when I got this one but at last, I found a tea maker!! It’s super easy to make tea. The pitcher is ok, it will hold more tea if you follow the instructions, I fill the pitcher to the water line to pour the water into the reservoir, I then fill a little past the water line and add ice cubes to the ice line when putting the pitcher into the machine to make the tea and get a very full pitcher. I am hoping this one will last me some time, so far so good! Unless you like really strong tea I wouldn’t recommend going by their instructions for the tea bags, I put 5 regular bags in and it was very dark, strong tea, they say to use 6-9 regular bags! Now I use 3 regular sized black tea bags and toss in a cinnamon blend regular sized tea bag for flavor and a little of the iced tea mix that is a powder with lemon flavor, it suits me perfectly.

Easy to use. Works great. Doesn’t take up too much space. Tea tastes great, adjustable for strength desired. Brews quickly. Nice lid. Only concern is durability of the pitcher….particularly the handle….dont know if it would withstand being dropped. Ordered a second one for my son. Shipping takes longer than usual.

I really enjoy my iced tea. My favorite tea comes from a 1 gallon jar with spigot I make sun tea in. Problem is in Colorado…I can’t put it outside where it’s warm and sunny enough to do that year round. So I purchased this. It doesn’t make as much as my 1 gallon jar and the tea isn’t quite as good but it still does a really good job and it’s easy and quicker than doing the sun tea thing. I do all sorts of iced teas – my favorite is rooibos with some fresh mint from my garden. Or making tea and adding a bit of TRUE Lime, Grapefruit or Orange to give it a hint of fruit flavor without being sweet. I can do all that (even add fresh mint) with this tea maker.I’ve used it extensively and have had zero issues. It just keeps cranking out great tea. Cleaning it out is pretty easy too and it doesn’t make any big messes. I get a little OCD on having the water remaining behind in it so I use some Dawn spray inside it and then rinse the entire inside of the machine out and leave it upside down in my dish rack to dry before next use.Definitely would recommend this to anyone – great product especially for the price.

This makes pretty good iced tea. I have been using loose leaf tea and a tea pot with infuser to brew the tea. I’ve done this for many years and easily adapted my method for this tea maker. I make sweet tea daily using these steps:* Add 2 heaping tablespoons of Twinnings English breakfast and spread over the bottom.* Add 1/2 cup of sugar in the filter (no coffee filters used). I don’t spread it out, just pile it in the center.* Add water to the pitcher up to the water line and pour into the tea maker* Add 3 ‘scoops’ of ice to the pitcher. Then add water to the water line. This should be just enough to float the ice. If the ice doesn’t float, remove some of the ice until it floats and the water is at the water line. This ensures the same amount of water in the pitcher every time. You don’t need the ice at all, but I prefer it so the tea is cool and I can put it directly into the refrigerator. Plus, we have an automatic ice maker and this helps keep the ice fresh.* Place the empty pitcher in the machine, set the strength to 4 and start.Play around with the strength, sugar, and tea as needed for your own taste. This isn’t true southern sweet tea as it only uses about half the sugar my grandma used.I like this method because I don’t have to deal with tea bags. I get loose leaf Twinnings tea on Amazon and use about one tin a month, which means it’s about $6/month for the tea. Much cheaper than buying soda or flavored waters. And fewer additives. This makes enough for the pitcher we use in the refrigerator plus about another glass full. Adjustments are easily made to make less.Cleaning is easy. I take out the basket and turn upside down on a paper towel, then add it to the compost bin. Rinse out the basket after each use by running water backwards through the filter (i.e. from the bottom) until the basket doesn’t have any tea left in it, being sure to tilt to get the sides. Every few uses, also rinse out the larger basket the filter sits in with hot water, depressing the mechanism so water drains through the hole in the bottom. The only caveat I’ve found is that the start button is not an on/off switch. If you press it while the machine is plugged in and is empty, it will start to smoke. There is no way to shut it off unless one unplugs the pitcher or adds water. The instructions are very clear about this, please read them. They specifically state to unplug the machine between uses, which I find to be a bit inconvenient. Still better than my old method, but it shouldn’t be necessary. If they manufacturer provided a better mechanism for turning this on and off, I’d give it a 5.
