This is the French Press I’ve been looking for!
It’s about time. I got mine and as anything glass that is being shipped… I was worried it would break during shipping. You know why, because it’s glass! Well, it made it and I was very pleased that it was all glass and Stainless Steel. Even the inside of the lid that connects to the plunger was all stainless steel. Also, the plunger gasket was made of stainless steel, not plastic or painted chrome over plastic. The glass was also thicker then most French Presses I’ve owned. I’ve owned more then a few.I bought the 600 ml or 4 cup French Press, btw.The jar, with mine is held in place securely and didn’t move easily when pouring. I could turn the French Press into full pour and not worry of the glass slipping. Maybe someday it might lossen but for now it’s secure. Also, the size is perfect for my 12 oz cup of coffee with plenty of room to spare. I have made up to a 20 oz cup coffee with no problem. I don’t like narrow French Presses unless I’m making a single scoop of coffee for one person. I feel that wider presses allow the coffee to breath and often times make a less bitter cup of coffee if you are doing multiple Table Spoons of Coffee.Just my opinion of course, enjoy!

No plastic parts touching hot coffee/tea
I was looking for a french press style coffee maker for my husband to use at work. I had a prerequisite before purchasing a coffee press: No plastic parts touching or near hot steamy liquid. First I bought a Bodum Chambord Coffee Maker, french press because it’s a classic but I discovered plastic on the lid which fits inside the glass and serves as slotted pour assistant. I sent it back because I did not want hot coffee or tea to run through plastic. My next option was a Chemex pour-over, but my husband preferred a press with a top as to avoid complete spills and have hotter coffee/brewed tea for longer (having a top helps that and helps brew tea leaves). This Hario was my next choice and the one that fit the bill. I would have preferred a Japanese made Hario product, but that was lower priority that the plastic-free prerequisite. This is also a decent size as it provides adequate amounts of coffee or tea, and does not take up too much height or space on my husband’s desk. Would recommend!

Great small press made with high quality Japanese glass
Great French Press. Hario makes quality glassware. Be aware that only the glass portion is made by Hario in Japan. The metal parts are made in China. However, all is not lost as it is still very well built and the stainless portions are thick and robust. The only real complaint I have with this unit is it is pretty small. I bought this to replace a Bodum French press after it tipped over and shattered. The Bodum press was definitely larger. I guess this is really my own fault. I read 4 cups and assumed it was as large as my Bodum press. I’m not sure what Hario means when they say 4 cups as I use a measuring cup when I make my coffee. After I add the ground coffee beans and 2 cups of water it is full. Anyhow, I still blame myself. I should have converted milliliters to cups and then I would have known, 600ml equals about 2 1/2 cups.I’ve been using it to make cold brew coffee, it always comes out delicious and clean-up is quick and easy. If you need a small, personal size press or one that is just large enough to make 2 servings of coffee this is perfect for you. Between this and my Hario Siphon Pot I can make amazing hot and cold coffee!

I think a French press is the only way to make truly great coffee. Once you start using one
First of all, I think a French press is the only way to make truly great coffee. Once you start using one, you won’t go back to the underwhelming flavor of Keurig brewed coffee.Have only used it 3 times, but so far, so good. All the materials are sturdy. Unlike some other presses, there is not a bit of plastic in it. The plunger slides down smoothly. The beaker is easily removed from the base for cleaning. The plunger is not as easily taken apart and reassembled as other presses I have used, but it’s a pretty minor complaint.I was previously using a 12 oz. press for daily use, but that did not make quite enough for me. This 20 oz. size is perfect!

Three Stars
I really loved it, but glass cracked after 5 weeks.

Works great, compact size perfect for making one large cup of coffee
Replaces my many years old Primula coffee press that I broke the glass on and could not find a replacement glass for. This was an economical replacement the seems well made after a year of camping use.

Although well-designed and fun to use, it’s small
Attractive, sturdy, makes good coffee and washes up in half a minute. Quite small – “two cups” is accurate if you use old-fashioned coffee cups but not if you’re drinking from a mug.

Poor All Over
I thought Hario is a premium brand for manual coffee brewing equipment, so I ordered this French press.Turned out to be a total piece of junk. Thin, flimsy rod and filter set-up, compared to anything from Bodum or Frieling. The cage is also pretty junky, but who cares. I sent it back.

Great French Press with all parts made of metal. It is easy to clean, but remember to hold it by it’s handle as over time the glass is not as snug in the base.
