When I bought this product it was to make cider! But when I received the box and read the online instructions I have to buy shop bought cider then add the yeast to make it a “hard cider”. Sort of defeats the object really of making my own cider. Should have saved myself the trouble and gone to the shop, bought myself some cider and drunk that at home. Very disappointed!

Highly recommend for beginners
Love this product. It offers a reliable and easy way to enter the world of brewing. My brother first got on and loved it. After having some of his cider I had to buy my wife and I one. We’ve had a blast making cider. The instructions are clear, it comes with almost everything you need.All you need is apple juice, bottles, caps, and a capper and this becomes the perfect gift.

OK for beginners
The price was what caught my eye. I was really interested in home brewing and didnât want to invest a ton before I started. It came with enough supplies to make 3 batches and Iâm currently on batch #2! My only issue was the instructions, the instructions are on their website and they are not very clear. I spent a lot of time on Google and Reddit to verify info and see if I was missing anything. I will also add that the tubing and cane to siphon the cider from one container to the next is very tricky and am looking into a different tool for my next batch. Overall I still think itâs a great product, could just use a little tweaking.

Everything you need to get started making a hard cider apart from Apple juice is included. The instructions are online so are not in the kit but they are simple to follow.I purchased some extra sterilisation powder because I had to clean the bucket, press and anything else needed while making then juice.I have completed two batches of Cider. Only tried the first one and I was very impressed. Clear, Nicely fizzy, fairly strong ALC as cider should be.

A Cider making kit should not in the fine print include the statement – go get cider to make this cider. Beware in english there is a difference between hard and soft cider – one has alcohol , one does not. Beware the fine print.

Great kit, Okay instructions.
Great kit, average instructions.This kit has everything you need and a link to the instructions you need to make whatever you want.That said, ignore their directions on the website for the yeast, and follow the instructions on the Top Star yeast packet on activating the yeast. Additionally, the packet of yeast is usuable for up to 5 gallon of whatever your poison is, so don’t need to pitch all of it, unless you happen to get something with a low amount of potassium sorbate (ideally, you want no potassium sorbate, but with enough yeast you can get away with it). I assume they tell you to pitch all the yeast just so that you’re guaranteed a fermentation, and therefore guaranteed to have a good first experience.

Great starter kit!
Don’t pay attention to the reviews about the instructions. They’re right there on the website. It took me 30 seconds to find and print. What is the big deal?? If it keeps the cost down so be it. This kit has everything to do 3 batches of cider except for the juice. I got a gallon at the local orchard and was ready to go. I have my first in process now and it has went perfect. This is the perfect gift also. Boxed and ready to wrap. Don’t hesitate, order this!
