Very fine ground
I prefer the fine grounds these mills provide. This particular one, I have dedicated to coffee. Two similar ones are used for spices. They all grind from fine to very fine, which works for my use cases. It lets me buy whole spices and coffee beans, which last longer than pre-ground and have no additives like anti-caking agents.

A True Work of Art and Craftsmanship
Letâs start with the obvious. This this is beautiful! This will make a great statement in any kitchen or on any table. The craftsmanship is meticulous and stunning. When I saw this, even though I have several grinders and mills, I had to have it.For me personally, this will be a beautiful display piece, but probably not something I will use on a daily basis. If I do use it, it will probably be for pepper or other spices and more for presentational reasons. The only reason I say this is that, as a coffee grinder, Iâd like the grind to be more fine. That said, this does a wonderful job on other spices as well as coffee for people who are not as picky as me!For looks, this gets 6 out of 5 stars. For spices like pepper, 5 out of 5. For coffee, 4 out of 5. Overall, I think my official rating would be 4.5 starsâ¦ taking off a half star because of my picky coffee requirements. But that averages up to 5 stars for Amazon and, seriously, this is a great piece of equipment to own.Even if you donât like coffee or donât cook, this will look awesome in your kitchen. Everyone will think you know what youâre doing! 😛

Clean it first!
This Turkish coffee/pepper mill is built to last! Iâve been in the market for a pepper grinder for a while after our previous electric oneâs clear plastic reservoir broke and the button started going out along with batteries leaking acid. Research made me aware of Turkish pepper mills and their longevity, so I was excited to put this to the test. You can tell this is hand made, and has a lot of awesome character. The only downside to this mill is that the instructions tell you to âwipeâ, but after wiping I found quite a bit of leftover residue from machining. I disassembled every piece except for the main grinding wheels and thoroughly cleaned with soap and water. I lubricated with a tiny bit of ballistol, but mineral oil would be a great choice if you decide to. This puts out a ton of pepper when needed, and turning the handle is so satisfying. You can adjust the grind size, but Iâve left mine on a relatively fine grind which is fragrant and powder-like. You can pre-grind pepper in the base and pour it in cooked dishes when needed. The handle only turns clockwise otherwise it will collapse at the joint, which is clever design since the grinder only works clockwise.I absolutely LOVE this grinder after cleaning it, and it has a great aesthetic. Puts out lot of pepper and will last a lifetime due to the all metal construction. Worth every penny!

Be prepared to workout for that awesome cup a joe!
The courseness on this manual grinder is perfect. It is super fine and because of this, I finally ran into a over tamping issue and had to poke holes in my puck for the espresso machine to be able to run water through it. That was the strongest cup of espresso I can ever remember and it made a beautiful macchiato. The one down side to this is that it does take a good while to grind enough for that cup. The grinder itself is very heavy and is fairly easily opened and closed. The one issue I wish they would have done is make some way for the upper lid to be more firmly closed on the main body. As is it has a lid that just slides on over the fixing bolt. It just felt a little loose while I was grinding and it makes me feel like it might fall off if I’m not careful. For now, a small piece of tape will do.

Not a lot of flexibility on the grind
This grinder is for Turkish coffee or spices, and the grind ranges from fine to very fine. It doesn’t work well for grinding a coarser bean for something like a French press.It is well made, but I don’t like the design of having two visible screws holding the grinding mechanism in place. The grinding plates are stainless steel.

Solid, old-fashioned coffee/pepper grinder that is also a great display piece.
This is a very representative piece of equipment. Even if you donât use it as a grinder, it will be a nice decoration in your kitchen. The grinder is very solid but not too heavy. Obviously, this is not a mass produced item. Putting it together is very easy, no description is needed. Just one observation, the crank handle is not secured with a nut, it just slides over the top square end. However, for refilling the top reservoir, it needs to come off easily. Whatever you are grinding is collected in the bottom container. That means less mess. That container has a limited capacity and you will not be able to grind a large volume of coffee. This grinder also makes a great present. For that purpose, a nicer cardboard box would be appreciated. The price appears a bit higher than comparable models from other sellers. Finally, what can be more poetic than grinding your coffee beans for a Turkish coffee with a coffee grinder made in Turkey?
