Review After Two Uses – UNDERWHELMING
My first impressions after using this coffeemaker twice: DISAPPOINTED. Here’s why: 1) It states plainly in the product description, “AUTO PAUSE & POUR â The flow of coffee on this small coffee maker stops when you remove the carafe so you can pour a cup of coffee before the brewing stops without making a mess.” However, my unit DOES NOT DO THIS!! Instead, water continues to flow all over the place when you take the carafe away to pour the first cup before brewing is complete. This happened BOTH times I made coffee. I had to try it the second time to see if I did something wrong the first time. Nope. This feature simply does not work. Maybe I have a defective unit. I do not know about that. 2) The brewing capacity of this unit seems a bit less than other small coffeemakers I’ve had that also advertise as being 5-cup brewers. To be honest, we all know you are getting 2 average cups of coffee, if lucky. But, to get only 1-1/2 cups is fairly disappointing. Now, to be fair, I am going to brew another pot and NOT remove the carafe until it is completely done brewing. Then, I will pour the entire contents into a large measuring cup and see exactly how many ounces of finished coffee is produced. I believe this unit will come up short. UPDATE: the full coffee pot measures exactly 24 ounces. This is average. Not a demerit.On the positive side, and the only reason I can give any stars rating above a 1-star, this brews a very tasty cup of coffee at a decent temperature. And, as advertised, the simple on-off switch allows the coffeemaker to be used with a Smart Switch, which is exactly how I have this set up. Works perfectly in this application.

Fantastic Coffee Maker
Itâs the perfect size, makes delicious coffee and I love the design. I especially like the way the filter swings out and I can pick the whole thing out and compost the filter. I hate reaching in and getting coffee grounds everywhere. Love the easy switch in the front and also the way you add water to the front. So much easier than a back fill. Just love it and thrilled I purchased it.

Small and convenient
This reminds me of the “hotel coffeepots”. It’s small but mighty. And I love that it has the front fill feature! I have been using this in my RV, so it’s great that it doesn’t take up a lot of space. (This would be perfect for a dorm room too!) In fact, it fits in the RV’s cupboard. So for traveling, I don’t have to worry about locking it down to prevent it from falling off the counter. The only thing I am a little disappointed in, is that it is no longer made in the USA. (Bottom of the box says, made in China.) I loved the fact that Hamilton Beach products were made in the USA. I guess not anymore. (Sigh) I hope the quality that they are known for hasn’t diminished, because I still have my full size Hamilton Beach coffee maker that I’ve had for what seems like forever. We shall see.

Filter Fail Design
I chose this little coffee pot as it was similar to my old one. After several attempts and making sure to carefully fold the edge of the coffee filter (as the tiny printed directions suggested) I was still getting poor filtering and coffee grounds in my coffee. For me this drip offee maker was a design fail, so I returned it.
