So this might be a little long but I think that’s okay for the most expensive coffee maker I’ve ever owned. The reality is there are definitely a couple annoying kinks with the GE Profile coffee maker…which I will point out …but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the overall takeaway is that this coffee maker is the fantastic. It literally brews the best cup of coffee ever. It has a ton of fantastic features also!Pros:1. Best cup of coffee ever. I used store ground beans, my own pre-ground beans and fresh beans in the grinder of this coffee machine. All of them are great. The coffees were smooth and you can actually taste the flavor notes in specialty coffees. I even brewed using the individual cup with ground beans I had pre-ground in my grinder that were sitting and a bit stale and it still took the old, bitter bite out of it!2. It uses a water filter which really helps remove the inconsistency of tap water.3. The carafe kept it warm for about 3-4 hours, but even reheating a cup in the microwave seven hours after it had been sitting resulted in a still solid cup of coffee surprisingly.4. The display is easy to read and gives you instructions if something is empty or needs to be dumped or cleaned.5. Pairing with the app opens up a whole set of remote functions (I included screenshots from the app). Doing this also registers the product and sets the time.6. It provides a countdown of how long until your perfect cup of coffee is ready, then provides another timer of how long your pot of coffee has been sitting since brewed.7. The display functions are pretty self-explanatory of what to press to switch between grind/no grind, carafe or mug and strength of coffee.8. Water carafe holds enough for two full carafes of coffee.9. It comes with reusable coffee filters for both the carafe and the mug use.10. It looks fantastic!Cons:1. It’s tall. So tall. If sitting under a standard kitchen cabinet on the shelf, you will have to always pull it forward to take the water dispenser off. I put it on my coffee cart. Problem solved.2. The part where you push the button to open to add grounds into the filter is pretty nifty, but closing it is a whole ordeal. You have to snap down the back part first (with the hinge) then the front part or it won’t close. The instructions don’t tell you this. It was not intuitive to figure out.3. The instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. A LOT to be desired.4. The instructions for using the grinder are nonexistent. Do NOT undo the grinder top thinking to pour beans in. Fifteen minutes and a good set of tweezers later, I was able to successfully remove the stuck coffee beans to put the grinder top back on. Smarter people than me might know this. You pour the beans on top of it and they feed their way in. Knowing how many beans is trial and error. Just fill it up.5. Fingerprints appear on the machine simply by waving your hand near it. I’ve had to wipe it down about 10 times in the last two days and still see fingerprints from barely touching it. But I guess that’s just the price to pay for the stainless steel and the touchscreen.Overall, the quality of the coffee that is brewed and the many perks and options of this machine outweigh the cons. Most of those cons are just a learning curve the instruction manual fails to tell you.My only concern is…given how fancy it is…will it last the test of time or have weird malfunctions? (I’m looking at you other name brand coffee maker that dies at the one year mark consistently.) Only time will tell, and I will update this in the future if anything goes wrong! For now, I’m just going to enjoy the best cup of coffee ever!

This is hands down the best coffee machine I have owned. I also have an expensive Breville Barista machine and I find the GE Profile a much more convenient machine that gives you super flavorful coffee. It looks great. I have the stainless steel model and it looks slick and premium. It’s styling is very modern and looks great in my kitchen. It also doesn’t take up too much space which is ideal as my kitchen is quite small and lacking surface area, though I would say it’s a little on the tall size.Setting this up is pretty simple. It’s a smart model so there is some connecting to your WiFi and you need to download the SmartHQ app to be able to remotely control aspects of the machine and set up a schedule for when you want it to kick in and start brewing. This for me has been a game changer and I love filling it up with water and fresh beans the night before and waking up to the smell of great coffee and having multiple cups ready. I am the only coffee drinker in my household but I easily get through a few cups in the morning.Other benefits of the app I love are the notifications to remind you that the filter needs changed and it’s time to dispose of the used coffee grinds. The GE Profile also has a built in Burr grinder. These are the gold standard for grinders and it does an excellent job. You can adjust the grinding to 6 different levels which is great and gives you flexibility depending on the type of beans you are using.Speaking of beans this has two unique features, the first being the ‘bloom’ feature which helps to remove any sour notes from your beans, and the other is the ‘Gold’ setting which is preset to seemingly professional barista levels. In reality I don’t really taste any difference but maybe others can.I also love the actual flask part of this. Gone are the days of those nasty cheap thin glass carafes that burn and evaporate the coffee. This is stainless steel and has a firm lid which helps to insulate the coffee and it stays piping hot.On the more negative side, everything needs to be cleaned by hand. You cannot put any of the components in the dishwashing machine. I wash it everyday and even though it is a little bit of a pain it’s a small price to pay. It also means everything should last longer as dishwashers tend to ruin things over time. It’s not a cheap machine but it’s well worth the investment if you want a modern coffee maker with loads of features and benefits, and most importantly it does make a darn fine cup of coffee!

I did NOT receive a free machine for my feedback! I see now these reviewers did. This machine, to me, is not worth the price. First off, the outside is stainless, yes, but all the other parts seem very cheap to me. The water reservoir in back is not sturdy in place and moves easily from side to side. There’s also a tiny gap between the water reservoir and the machine. The filter door is sometimes hard to close as the filter and its holder have to be in place absolutely perfectly. I don’t like the basket filter as emptying it is a pain, but the way that it is shaped, you cannot put a paper filter in there or it seems it won’t sit up right and I don’t want to put a paper filter inside the basket filter as then it’s double filtered. We used it twice and unfortunately, even on the boldest setting, the coffee was not that strong. A few things I did like: the stainless carafe, that you can set the timer for it to brew, the water reservoir that is detachable and probably easy to clean.Overall, not worth the almost $400. I had a Cuisinart grind & brew and honestly liked it better.
