When I first got it there was a rather strong smell. It disappeared after a good scrubbing with Dawn and a trip through the dishwasher. Other than that it is a great mug. Seals well and adds no taste to coffee or other drinks. I know this should be taken for granted with all coffee mugs but 90% of them fail and have funny taste or leak etc. Buying another one for XMAS present.

It looks nice and seems sturdy. It does keep drinks hot so that’s a plus. Taking 2 stars off because despite washing it by hand, it is already showing signs of wear and tear as paint chipped a bit…so I suspect I won’t have a cute cup with Cat pic for a very long time…
