I’m relatively new to coffee bean roasting, so having a machine that enables me to learn the basics is important. Equally important is having a machine that provides the flexibility to change variable values as my knowledge and skill improve. The SR800 meets both of these needs in superb fashion. The control knob for heat, fan speed, time, and real-time temperature reading is easy to learn and provides for excellent variable control. The LED panel is easy to read, and the buttons to start, stop, and initiate cooling are well placed. Even though I’m a newbie, the SR800 has enabled me to craft coffee that is tailored to my preferred tastes.UPDATEThe more I use the SR800, the more impressed I am. I especially like the single control knob for fan speed, heat, time, and temperature read-out, and the chaff collector. In combination, the features of the control knob provide precise control of the roasting process, while the chaff collector eliminates one of the messy effects of roasting coffee beans.Because I roast on a fully enclosed porch, an extension cord is necessary. Before the first roast, I did some research on the matter and made sure I was using a 20 amp circuit. Before each roast, I make sure that nothing else is drawing on that circuit. I also invested in a 14 gauge extension cord, which is rated to 15 amps. This roaster can draw 14.6 amps at full power, so any cord smaller than 14 gauge may be inadequate.Without reservation, I recommend the SR800 to anyone seriously interested in roasting their own coffee.

Very good for home roasting, can roast from my apartment stovetop! Neat package with all thats needed esp extension tube. The seller was awesome and communicated regarding the order and was very responsive.

Fantastic product and seller
First time coffee roaster and was super excited to purchase this kit. Unfortunately, it was stolen off my front porch before I got home from work. The seller was generous enough to send me a full replacement of the kit, and we’ve used it 5 times since. Easy to use for a beginner thanks to the included instructions. I didn’t expect to use some parts of the kit but I ended up using everything – even the plastic trays are super useful for transferring beans.Would highly recommend this to anybody looking to get started on roasting their own beans. We’ve already saved money by buying unroasted beans (much cheaper) and giving out roasted coffee beans to our friends and family as holiday/birthday gifts.
