Everything You Need for Matcha at Home
Iâve been getting into matcha lately, and this kit has everything I needed to make it at home. The whisk is greatâit froths up the tea really wellâand the bowl is a good size and feels solid. The little sieve is handy for getting rid of clumps, which makes a big difference in the texture.I was surprised by how easy it is to clean, too. Most of the pieces just rinse off or can go in the dishwasher. Itâs also really pretty and doesnât take up much space in my kitchen. If youâre new to matcha, this is a great starter kit.

Not a Ceremonial Set, But Useful for Everyday Personal Use
I used to live in Japan, and so my opinions are based on my experiences of matcha tea sets from there. It may vary in other countries.Firstly, in case you didn’t know, the bowl has a spout so you can pour the prepared matcha into a cup. You do not drink directly from this bowl. In all of the ceremonies I participated in, there was an additional lidded bowl or pot filled with rinse water. This set does not come with that. It also does not come with a water ladle. The scoop is smooth on the scoop side (outside of the bamboo) and the underside is rough. The smaller scoop in my photo is the size I often received when I bought tins of matcha powder. The whisk disappoints me a bit. After one use, it began to fray at the edges (see pic). I have never had one do this before, especially not after one use. It is not the highest quality (but this set is economically priced, so you have to consider that you get what you pay for). I would recommend upgrading to a higher quality whisk for long term use.The set is quite beautiful and will work well for daily contemplation as I slowly prepare my cup.

Works great.
This tea set has everything you need to prepare a nice cup of matcha. The included mat is a nice touch. Although a small detail, I preferred this set to others because of the all-steel strainer. Before using, I soaked the chasen (whisk) in hot water in the mug I was making my latte in. Not only does it soften the bamboo bristles, but it also warms up the mug in preparation for the drink. To make a matcha latte:I used the enclosed bamboo spoon to scoop two spoonfuls of matcha powder. I sifted that into the tea bowl and mixed in three tablespoons of water. In my milk steamer, I added two teaspoons of honey to one cup of milk and steamed until hot and frothy. Lastly, I poured the tea into my mug, poured the frothed milk on top, and sprinkled a dash of matcha powder on top.

You buy this matcha kit when you want to learn how to practice the ancient art of tea-based serenity
I ordered this firsts and finds 7-piece ceramic matcha bowl kit (Amazon ASIN B0DJMYXHFG) because I wanted to learn more about the cherished ritual of Japanese matcha in my daily routine. The kit assumes you’re not an expert so it comes with five-part instructions of “How to make matcha green tea”:1. Heat water2. Add 2 scoops of matcha into a cup or bowl3. Add 2 ounces of hot water4. Whisk in a zig zag motion for 1 to 2 minutes until the tea is foamy5. Enjoy your match tea!The kit contains the following 7 components:1. Ceramic matcha bowl2. Ceramic whisk holder3. Bamboo whisk4. Bamboo spoon5. Spoon holder6. Stainless steel sieve7. Ceremonial matAs you can see from the attached detailed images, the kit itself seems to be well crafted with the ceramic matcha bowl as the centerpiece with its elegant pouring beak. It feels substantial and warm in my hands. The dark green, in a way, reminds me of the tea fields of Uji, where matcha cultivation has flourished for centuries. The included bamboo whisk (aka chasen) is perfectly shaped with delicate tips. The accompanying bamboo spoon (aka chashaku) worked well for measuring the matcha powder. But this kit is more than just aesthetically pleasing as, for me, it’s a convenient gateway to a centuries-old tradition. Paradoxically, as it turns out, matcha’s origins can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty in China, but it was in Japan, during the 12th century I’m told, that the art truly blossomed. Apparently Zen Buddhist monks, seeking a way to stay alert and focused during long meditation sessions, embraced matcha and its stimulating properties. History tells me that they developed the meticulous art of the tea ceremony (aka chanoyu) partly by elevating matcha preparation and consumption to a profound spiritual practice.Having said that background, I feel this kit allows me to recreate a simplified version of that ritual at home. The process of whisking the green powder, the subtle earthy aroma that fills the air, and the first sip of the creamy, slightly bitter brew â it’s a moment of quiet contemplation in my busy day. I find myself slowing down, focusing on the present, and appreciating the simple act of preparing and enjoying tea. While Iâm no aspiring tea master, this kit does make the process more accessible and enjoyable for anyone. The pouring beak on the bowl is a good design choice, by preventing spills and ensuring a smooth pour. The quality of the bamboo whisk is evident in its durability and ability to create a perfect froth. Even cleaning is a breeze.Overall, I’m happy with this 7-piece matcha Kit. It’s a beautiful and functional set that connects you to the rich history and mindful practice of Japanese tea culture. In its own way, perhaps it’s more than just a tea set. Think of it as an invitation to a more tranquil and present way of being. If I’ve earned your respect for writing a detailed review, I hope it helps you make a better purchasing decision. For transparency, please note that the images contains two necessary things which are not included in the package (hence they are both labeled as not included in my attached illustrative photos), namely the yunomi teacup and the matcha tea itself (but you probably knew that as the listing doesn’t state that they are included – I just wanted to be fully clear with you because they’re still needed).

This matcha tea set looks very traditional
It’s a beautiful set. The instructions that arrived with the matcha tea set are very clear. The materials felt very traditional and high quality. The glazed earthenware is a nice feel – definitely hand wash versus placing in the dishwasher.Using the bamboo whisk and sieve, the matcha mixed very smooth without any clumps. It’s great value for the money
