    very good – excellent quality
a bit pricey… curious if maker would dominate this market if they lowered their margins and made this more accessible… but in terms of a French press… this far exceeds the classic metal filter screen design – taste really is improved… coffee is less bitter, no grounds… easy to clean. very happy w this purchase

    Look No Further!
I have been saying it since I wrote the first, independent, official review of the first Espro Press: These make such a clean, flavorful cup of coffee that they make the “traditional” press pot obsolete. The filter is so effective that once you press, the extraction stops. With the old style presses you dare not drink the last sip because of the sludge at the bottom of the cup. That sludge add bitterness to the cup. The Espro press filters so effectively that there is virtually no sludge that gets transferred to the cup. These double-wall, vacuum insulated presses not only keep the coffee hot but are also TOUGH! Don’t worry about one breaking when dropped into the sink- worry about the sink!TIP: to not waste the last bit of coffee, when most of the coffee has been dispensed into cups, while holding the press over the cup as to pour, pull the plunger out about two inches then press it back in. It will pump most of the coffee liquid out. That tip makes it a bit easier to clean up, but all presses do leave grinds in that need to be dumped out. The benefit of the Stainless Espro presses is that they are tough to knock on the side of the waste bin without worry. How good are they? Among many other coffee making devices and machines, I lost four or five Espros in a house fire. One of the first two coffee making devices I purchased was this one.If you do not need to make 32 ounces at a time, try the 16 ounce version. But all their presses work the same and make thesame great coffee. Even the affordable travel press.

Great Coffee, Keeps it Reasonably Hot
Update: After three weeks of use, here’s what I can tell you. This press has totally replaced my classic Bodum French press, which has been relegated to basement storage. My initial impression that it was harder to clean than the Bodum one was wrong. Actually, it’s easier to clean and I never have to worry about breaking it. My annoyance that it didn’t keep the coffee as hot as other reviewers promised (whoever said it keeps coffee hot four hours is lying) has totally faded because the coffee is delicious. While it does not keep the coffee hot like a thermos would, it does keep it nice and fresh and hot if you want to make a press and have it on the table throughout a leisurely breakfast while reading the newspaper or whatever. So, overall, I do stand by my bottom line. Great coffee, might not be worth the extra for the double-wall vacuum-sealed, but I can’t see going back to my old press again.Original review below:I bought this after reading a NYTimes Wirecutter review of French Presses. I’ve used a classic Bodum press for two decades, but after reading about the potential cholesterol raising effects of unfiltered coffee, was looking for an alternative. I use a Clever for single-cup filtered coffee, but most days I want to brew more than one cup at a time. Enter the Espro. And as long as I was upgrading, why not go all in with the double-wall vacuum insulated model? This could be my leisurely weekend coffee maker.Well, the coffee is great, but the added expense of the double-wall, vacuum insulation is not at all worth it. Kept the coffee moderately hot for one hour. After two hours, it was unpleasantly cold. I thought this would spare me the need to decant into a thermos, thereby saving me some clean up. But since there are so more parts to the filtration system than a typical press, it’s more of a pain to clean up, and doesn’t keep the coffee very hot.Bottom line: Great filtration, but the glass or non vacuum sealer metal versions would suffice. The top of the line version doesn’t deliver on keeping coffee hot long enough to justify the high price tag.

    Best Press Coffee but HUGE
Really like the flavor out of this coffee and it’s super easy to use. I like that it stops the coffee from brewing once you press it and you can keep your coffee warm in there for a few hours. The special double filter is the best I’ve tried but do know that you will still get sludge at the bottom of your coffee. The double filter is NOT easy to clean but most french presses are more involved in this aspect compared to other brew methods. I wanted the larger size to brew several cups but was completely surprised by how huge it is. It’s pretty big for what it is. The one REAL big CON is that because the filter doesn’t fully reach the bottom of the press, you are always left with some coffee at the bottom. Like a sizable amount of coffee that will always be wasted. For a single 3 cup brew, I’m brewing 12g more coffee which over time leads to lots of extra expense and waste. I’ve already seen my coffee use go way up merely just from this wasted coffee down below the filter.

The P7 is the best French Press on the market today.
Very well made and keeps the coffee nice and warm. The double strainer is excellent too. No grinds get in the coffee! Two things I have noticed that could be improved. They have two lines inside the carafe which say” Min Fill” and “Max Fill”. I would add the number of milliliters under those two lines for ease of calculations. Also, their directions for the amount of coffee per milliliter or per once of water is unclear in their instructions. It takes a while to figure it out for someone who is new to the French Press. Also, I would advise getting a 32 once French Press so you can make enough for two people if you need too.Overall, I would say the P7 is the best French Press on the market today.

A good, solid french press.I’ve used it daily for maybe a little over a year now? I can’t remember when I bought it, but still. It’s fantastic and holds up great. Definitely a buy it for life, kind of press.

Sadly, I found this cafetière wastes coffee because the fine filter stops the last of the brew from pouring out.I say sadly because, in all other respects, this is an excellent product. Very fine filter, excellent tight fitting lid, excellent insulation. But, alas, this wasn’t quite the right size for me.
