Great for Beginners
This is my first tamping station since I recently got the Breville Bambino. It meets my needs, but the plastic does make it feel low quality, hard to say if it’s worth the price without owning other stations. After using it for over a month it’s dented a bit around the knock box from being hit daily which can be expected. The plastic doesn’t stain and is easy to clean. I was unsure of the size at first, but with my growing accessory collection I’ve used up most of the slots provided. The provided silicone tamping mat works for my smaller portafilter but my new one falls off given its larger size so it only works with some portafilters. Like the tamping mat, the portafilter holder only works with my smaller-sized portafilter, the adjuster can’t balance the heavier size. If you like the layout and have lots of accessories I’d say it’s worth a shot otherwise there are better options out there at this price range.

The best one so far
I have tried several of these espresso workstations. I have been fooled by the pictures into thinking they did things they don’t really do. This one didn’t really make any claims, but after working with a big brand and being disappointed, I looked harder at this one before I decided to try it. This one has a well for the tamper, and it has a couple wells you can put the portafilter in, one upright and one you can use for tamping. It also came with a tamping mat, so two different tamping options, depending on your preference. It has slots for the shower screen that actually work, and it has a knock box you could use for something else if you already had a knock-box solution…. The tamping mat has a fold-over edge and a slot for a conventional portafilter, but if you use a naked portafilter, I found it best to push all the way in and not try and seat on the first round, instead seat to where you are touching the second round seat. the notch will align with the low part of most naked portafilters. But I found I could use the main box adjustable portafilter slot for tamping my naked portafilter as well, so it has two different tamping options for me. I don’t need 2 tamping stations, it is overkill, but I am not going to deduct points for having too many options.I still haven’t decided how I will use this in my workfklow, but this is the winner on tamping.

It works but the grounds bucket isn’t deep enough. Makes a mess. It’s heavy which it needs to be. I don’t even know what to do with the included rubber tamping matt or whatever it is. LOL

Great for organization!
This box is great for beginners and has great features but there have been a couple of things that keep it from being a five-star item. The rubber mat is super great, but unfortunately, if your countertop has a rounded edge rather than a 90-degree angle, it will not work properly. Considering most countertops do have a straight edge this won’t be a problem for most people. The other issue is the adjustable knob on the knock box is great but doesn’t go low enough to fit my porta filter perfectly, but after fiddling with it a little bit and taking out the second layer of the knob I got it to fit and now it works perfectly! But aside from those 2 minor issues, this box is very well made and sturdy and has made my coffee bar organization so much easier! It holds all of my tampers and accessories and I don’t use the knock box for grounds, so instead I store my syrups and spices in there, but I like that I have the option to use it as a knock box in the future.

There are better options
Eh, I wanted to like this but I don’t. The main reason I ordered this was for the knock box component of it. It is SO MESSY compared to a traditional knock box with a bar. I much prefer that. I didn’t think the white color would be an issue but I was wrong. When you attempt to empty the wet grounds, they splatter everywhere, and the box isn’t deep enough to catch it without you hitting the counter top, yourself, etc. So for me, that just isn’t going to work. Especially when I’m making that first cup in the morning and I am half asleep, not being super careful, and I end up getting crap all over myself and the counter. Not a good start to the day.The plastic is of a decent weight but I’m not slamming anything down on it. It moves around. The silicone pad meant to cushion the blow also shifts when trying to knock it out. I ended up just getting a spoon and that knock area is now storage for espresso that I keep in a little jar.This does have plenty of storage for your espresso items. I’m able to keep my tamp, espresso distributor, and brush all in the little cubbies.I’d say there are better options in this price range that offer better functionality that aren’t as messy to use. This just doesn’t do it for me. I work with commercial quality espresso gear for a living and this wouldn’t hold up for to heavy use let alone daily use at home. Save your money and go with another option that’s made with better materials and has a better design.

Not bad
This is a decent station. The plastic seems like good quality and the removable knock box is a nice touch. That said, the white is ugly, it looks like the internal shipping packaging of a larger cardboard box.
