Says directly in the description, ” It’s important to note that while the slider lid is closed, it is not leak proof and may not prevent spills”. This is true of these style lids. Plain and simple. Knock it over, it may have some spillage, or maybe not. I think in another spot they mention leak proof so shame for that.Bought this for my husband as part of a birthday gift. He doesnt like his coffee hot-hot, but with the temps starting to drop and we keep our house on the cooler side, I figured it would at least keep his coffee from getting ice cold in a regular ceramic mug. I just assumed he would keep the lid off to help it cool down a little but not turn cold. Silly man, he said that the mug is keeping his coffee WAY too hot. I asked if he took the lid off.. “no”. LOL. OK, good.. the mug definitely keeps his coffee piping hot with the lid on. And as expected, it will keep it a drinkable warm if one decides to take the lid off. I imagine it will also keep drinks cold.He thought lid was well secure, and there was mild leakage when he turned it over. Persoanlly I expect that. Only mugs that are legit leak proof are going to have a much more closed system (screw on lid, snap close mouth opening).Bonus info: if you preload these mugs with hot water and let sit for a minute, you have effectively granted the mug more time to keep the drink hot as you will not be pouring hot liquid into a cold vessel.Nice look, early impression of 4 stars. We have only hand washed it. So far so good.

Durable but very low thermal quality
I feel lied to by the many reviews I saw claiming that this kept their coffee hot, maybe no one has ever bought a quality mug before, but this does very little to anything for keeping the coffee warm, it’s slightly better than just a ceramic mug but almost the same. The temperature does not last at all! I do like the size and quality of it but the main thing that I do not like are the misleading in the reviews is the cups ability to keep things warm for a long time. It in fact is the main reason I am shoping for a new mug with better thermal qualities.

Shatterproof lid?
The slider on the lid has a pinching mechanism so you can slip it off and clean underneath. Seems like a smart idea, but no, six weeks into having the mug, one of the pinchers broke as I pinched it. Now I have a mug with no lid. Sad. Also, looking forward the opportunity to buy just a new lid (promise to be more careful with the pincher!), but no, canât seem to find a way just to buy a new lid. Up until the broken lid issue, it was a fine purchase, but not worth the money for only six weeks of use. âShatterproofâ is what it says in the description; it broke while I was pinching to remove it, so no, that term is completely false.

Love this insulated mug. Bought it for work and itâs the perfect size for my mini keurig. Keeps my coffee warm all morning, has a beautiful modern design, feels sturdy and easy to clean. Definitely recommend!

OverallGreat Mug. Keeps tea hot for a long time. Easy to hold. Coating feels great. Handle is comfortable.Keeps tea hot for about 4 hours then starts to cool down to a warm tea for about 1.5 hours. I got the black one and it looks very good. Rubber on the bottom works and keep mug in place; doesn’t slide.When DrinkingVery comfortable to drink from this mug. With lid on, its fine, My nose does touch the top part of the rim, but barely. Compared to other cups or bottles with a smaller diameter, my nose would push too compress too much against the rim.With the lid off, my nose doesn’t touch the rim of the mug at all. Very comfortable. I sometimes drink with the lid off is I know I’ll probably finish my tea within 1.5 hours. The tea will stay hot or very warm within that time frame with the lid offIn Car Cup HolderDoesn’t fit in my Honda SUV cup holder, as expected, so I bought a cup holder extender that will hold large diameter bottles. And that works perfectly to hold this mug.Metal TasteHaven’t tasted any metal tastes since I’ve owned it for 3 months now. And I usually drink 2 cups a tea a day.Conclusionif you’re looking for a mug to keep your drinks hot for a longer than usual time, then this is the mug for you. I’m very happy with this purchase.
