Update 3/26/25 – I measured the amount of whole milk on a scale when poured to the minimum line inside the pitcher: 179 grams give or take of whole milk. I have no idea of that is a lot or a little. Like I said in previous updates to this review, I go through whole milk a lot faster but I still use this device every single day, sometimes twice a day.Update 3/14/25 – There are two spinner thingies that go into the center of the pitcher: one for Froth Mode (on the left side of the touchscreen) and one for the Stir Mode (on the right of the touchscreen). I actually haven’t used the Stir Mode spinner disk and Stir Mode to make any drinks yet. I have only used Froth Mode because I just use whole milke, latte setting. Anyway, the top big propeller part of the spinning thing for Froth Mode came out once while I was cleaning it. I was able to pop it back in vertically. But it’s slightly wobbly now if you move it around slightly. I don’t remember if the wobble was already there from the beginning. This hasn’t affected the froth results though (same froth as before) and the propeller part hasn’t fallen out on its own since. Also, tip: Pour the frothed milk into your drink right away for best results. I think if you let it sit, it separates more, so you can swirl it around in the pitcher before you pour it in.Also, I usually fill the pitcher to the minimum line and I do pour all the frothed milk into my one cup (previously, I said I split it into two cups because the minimum quantity line in the pitcher feels like a lot of milk) because I’m the only one making a cup of coffee/tea in the morning. Basically, I’m saying it seems like a lot of milk but it seems fine in the end taste-wise.Update 3/6/25 – I wanted to add to my review that another nitpick thing I’ve found is the amount of milk that is required for the minimum line. I used to just pour in a little whole milk to my coffee (cold, I know, *shudder*). Anyway, the minimum line, which doesn’t even include the area where you need to pour for latte art, is in my opinion a lot of milk. I usually pour half of the frothed milk to another cup of coffee for someone else and pour half for myself. You may think that the amount of frothed and heated milk from the minimum or latte art area (just above the minimum line) is good for one cup of coffee. Bottom line, I run out of whole milk a lot faster now using the minimum line for the whole milk, latte setting.Update 2/28/25 – So I have owned this product for over a week now. I have used it EVERY SINGLE DAY. I still haven’t figured out how to pour the foam (whole milk, latte setting) to make actual latte art. I don’t know if it’s actually possible to make very nice latte art from this machine, but I am not a professional barista by any means. Secondly, you do have to use a sponge to clean the bottom of the pitcher after whole milk at least because a milky residue remains even after swirling water inside the pitcher to “clean” it.Original review – This machine is amazing. It actually works. The foam is micro enough that it mimics what you buy at the fancy coffee shops or big box coffee shops. I’m obsessed. Also does foam almond milk, there is an almond milk setting. I love that you just pour the milk in and touchscreen what you want In 3 ish minutes you have foam to top off your coffee or tea. I love that it heats the milk up too and foams it. This is way better than a hand electric whisk because it’s set it and forget it. If this breaks, I’m getting another one. One of those kitchen gadgets I actually use everyday in addition to my electric kettle. Now I’m spoiled and expect foam with all my matchas and coffees ha!

    LOVE IT
I am so happy with this machine!! Finally I can make my matcha lattes at home, and for an affordable price! if you can not pay hundreds to buy a home espresso machine/steamer (or if you don’t have the space for one). I use almond milk which turns out great. Of course it may not be exactly just like what an espresso steamer can do, but honestly for what this is I think the result is really really good. I also use the stir feature for my hot powder drinks, which turns out amazing as well and mixes the powders up much better than doing it manually, and you can choose the stir temperature up to 170 degrees.Note that if you overfill past the “max fill foam” line then your latte may not turn out hot enough. Stay within the max fill lines (there’s two of them depending whether you are doing a foam drink or a stir drink) and you’re fine.Super easy to clean as well, takes like 20 seconds or less. The propeller attachment has little screens that clean better/faster with a little brush. It’s not hard to clean at all, just a quick pass with the brush. One suggestion for improvement: including a little brush custom-made for the Dreo would help for cleaning the propeller. I am using a brush I bought separately, and it works, but since the propeller is a small part, it’s more tricky to get the bristles in between the smaller spaces. I will look for a smaller brush but would be nice if the machine came with one. But it’s not a big deal. Great value for a great machine!!

Absolutely get this if you have a flair or any other manual machine. Amazing microfoam
As someone with an breville machine dedicated to just steaming for my flair 58, I was skeptical about the performance of a machine like this. But I couldn’t have been more blown away by the quality of this machine, the milk is perfectly heated and has amazing microfoam. It is not too thick, it is not too stiff and is silky enough to make very clean pours. And this works even if you don’t know how to steam or are doing something else and leave it to steam. One of the downsides is that it is a bit slow, but that is counteracted by the fact that you will not be the one steaming, you just set the jug down with milk and it works without you doing anything. Theres build quality seems decent with a metal base and it does feel a bit light but not cheap. If you have a manual machine without a steamer or just want a microfoamed milk for matcha lattes, this is an insane value as it’s only 100 and does better than most thermoblock machines over 300.

Stopped working in less than a month
I was in love with this milk frother but after using it daily for two weeks, from out of nowhere the motor started making a grinding noise and it would no longer spin adequately to foam the milk. Before that it worked great with all kinds of milk, dairy and non-dairy. I am returning it and am hesitant to buy the same one. However, I don’t see any other reviewers who had the same problem so maybe this was just a one-off defective item.

    Major disappointment
Very disappointing it does only one thing compared to what it says multiple features. It does only one kind of froth cold or hot, the thick froth is just the same as cappuccino froth. The minimum amount required amount of milk to make a froth is a lot like twice the volume of one cup hence too much waste and so what would I do with the excess yes drink it or make another cappuccino for who?

    Pretty but could be better
This item doesn’t get very hot and makes minimum foam. As soon as you use it has to be washed or the milk will stick to the bottom and not want to wash or rinse off. Normally my daughter and I will use back to back but this item you have to wash in between uses or you will have to scrub to get the milk out of it

If you love coffee with any sort of cream, you may like this. I mean, you can always just pour cream into your coffee, but where’s the dazzle in that!! LOL Well, I mean, there’s nothing wrong with that. But I don’t know about you, but I have always loved microfoam cream in my coffee. It just adds a nice fluff and makes it look cool. I do have a few different frothers. One of the most common and affordable ones is the one with a built-in mixer on one end that typically takes a couple of batteries. They are pretty much just a mixer, but the wire tip oxygenates the liquid well enough that you will see tiny little micro bubbles. Especially if the liquid is creamy like milk, hmmm it will look so cool. It tastes the same, but just because of how it looks and feels, subconsciously, I feel the cream is yummier. Anyhow, this is pretty much like those, but it is just a more sophisticated version. So this particular frother creates foam, mixes your drink, and also heats it up for you. Say if you need microfoam for lattes, cappuccinos, and other specialty drinks, you can easily achieve that with this frother. There are apparently 5 different types of foam you can make with this. And it also takes different kinds of milk. Like soy or almond milk. I have never used those in this frother, but the ad says you can. Also, you can use this to mix your drinks. Say you wanna make a protein shake. Just pour the powder, add water/milk, use the mixing head, and start. There are two-speed modes. You also get 6 different temperature settings. So you mix drink or foam, which can be warm, hot, cool, etc. Also, say if you just want a hot cup of milk. Just pour the milk, choose the settings, and you’re done.If you are doing any sort of foam, timing is key with this frother. The foam starts to separate within 30 seconds to a minute, so pouring it into your coffee immediately after frothing ensures the best results. If you need to pause, gently swirling the milk in the pitcher can keep the foam and milk evenly mixed for a short while. However, over time, the foam may break down, with larger bubbles forming and the milk losing its smooth finish. It’s worth noting that once frothed, re-frothing isn’t an option, so get it right the first time for the best experience. Overall, it’s a great multifunctional frother. But weighing what it does and the price, you may want to look for cheaper options. But those cheaper options are likely not going to give you the same quality and ease of use as what you get with this.

  13. Customer Review

This Dreo Frother is a more professional unit for those who want to play around with latte art and for those who have ‘expectations’ for their coffee. I am by no means a barista, but I do enjoy a good cup of coffee with a smooth finish provided by the milk. I do have a different unit by Paris Rhone, but there are a few things this Dreo unit really outperforms it that I would opt for the Dreo in comparison, and one of the biggies for me is the interior surface of this particular unit – all stainless steel, much preferred to one with coating. The milk isn’t heated up very much, but still the coating bothers me, I have to be super careful when washing, but with this Dreo unit, washing is as easy as 1-2-3.One thing I thought was odd, was that no where was I able to find the capacity of this frother, and I still can’t see it on the ad after relooking. But, if you are curious, the minimum line is about 240mL, max foam line is 380mL and max stir is about 475ml (give or take 10ml for all). At first, I was a little disappointed to see such small capacity in comparison to how large the unit was, but it actually did not take up too much counter space (since it’s tall rather than wide), and I usually don’t make that much. I like the removable top carafe, makes it easy to wash. And the magnetic attachments are great, especially since I sometimes forget to put it in before the liquid and you cannot see the insert with milk inside.I’ve switched to oat milk recently and the barista oat milk works really well, I’m hooked and have been using this frother everyday, experimenting with latte, and different types of foam, it’s pretty fun. Much smoother coffee!
