I initially bought two, one for painting on and sending to a customer and the second, I kept for myself. They are lovely feeling mugs, I don’t know about you but for me the texture of a mug makes all the difference and these are soft and chunky, not hard and thin like most mugs. It add to the morning cosiness of that first cup of coffee. I don’t use the lid, but my customer does, and likes it. The initial one was cream coloured and the new ones are black-grey. I treated myself to new ones because the mug is so nice and I wanted a black version so that when my dad comes round we can both have a really nice cup of coffee from a really nice mug. The cork base is really useful, I keep mine attached to a magnetic surface with the magnets while they are in the dishwasher and then reattach them after. I’d love to know how to get or make replacement bases because the first one is starting to look a bit scruffy. I’ll probably figure out how to make one myself because spare bases seem not to be available.The only gripe is that they are a bit expensive but I’ve looked all over for cheaper equivalent mugs and not found anything this nice.

Keep it Hot while Keeping it Classy
I have been searching for something like this for A LONG time. I make myself a fancy-ish coffee/tea every morning. I am someone who, when drinking a hot beverage… actually likes it to stay hot. So I typically drank out of a “travel mug” while at home. But this is so much more… satisfying. The ceramic is great, as is the rich color, and the cork is not only aesthetic but functional (no ring marks on your wooden coffee table or nightstand). In fact, you could say that about the whole mug. Aesthetic and functional. My favorite combination for all things in life. The well-fitting lid that sinks discreetly and reminds you of perfection, just like shade-grown sustainably grown locally roasted coffee mixed with the just the right amount of turbinado sugar and organic heavy cream. Perfection containing perfection. Doesn’t get much better than that.Bonus, they come with two, and my girlfriend loves hers too. She doesn’t need her drink to stay as hot though… so she doesn’t use the lid as religiously as I do. That’s what is so cool about it. with a travel mug, when you aren’t using a lid it just seems like its missing from the design. These remain elegant with or without. This will definitely be a gift I give others as I can’t imagine anyone not liking these.

More gimmick than game
The mugs look good but function only marginally better at retaining heat than an everyday ceramic mug. The lid and cork coaster *probably* do slow some heat loss but don’t expect to notice much. The heat radiating from the remainder of the mug overwhelms any advantage of these features. In short, these are not insulated to any meaningful degree. Your coffee or tea will still get as cold as fast as before. Also, the cork coaster adheres to the mug by a magnet affixed to the coaster and a metal slug affixed to the bottom of the mug. On both my cups, the slugs have fallen off, which required my having to glue them back on. I suspect the reason this happens is because heat from the cup undermines the integrity of whatever adhesive they use to attach the slug to the mug. I used a high heat tolerant superglue to reattach the slugs, which seems to have fixed what is essentially an aesthetic problem. Rated 3 star for average quality and function. It’s no better or worse than that promotional coffee mug you won as a door prize at your company’s most recent teambuilding training.

This hot beverage cup is a great buy. It is heavy enough for you to feel it but not strain. The cork bottom comes off for easy cleaning and reattaches with a magnet. The cork bottom will not scratch your table or counter surfaces which is great. Comes with a press in lid to keep contents hot. Variety of colours but black looks the best in my opinion. Overall a great mug to enjoy all your hot beverages.

Awesome! But…
This mug is exactly what I wanted – it’s fairly large, the cork bottom makes it safe for setting hot drinks down on wooden furniture, and it just happened to match our dishware. I have purchased 3 sets over the years as they get a lot of use and, like all ceramics, are prone to break when dropped.My ONLY complaint is with my most recent purchase. The mugs used to have a fixed, permanently attached cork bottom, but the manufacturer has implemented the very neat idea of having the cork bottom removable, held in place by a magnet. While clever, the glue holding the magnet to the ceramic bottom fails quickly after a couple light hand-washes. I have re-glued it on several times with various superglues but so far have not found one that lasts more than a week. The mug is still great, but I do hope they revert to the original design.
