Works in some cases
These were intended to replace a degraded metal foil filter that has two parts; the cone filter and also a flat base that sits on the rim of your cup, elevating the filter above the whole cup. Because there’s only one “action photo” for this item on Amazon, I didn’t realize that these filters are just a cone that must sit in the opening of your cup, meaning you are limited to using containers that are tall enough and appropriately wide to suspend the whole filter above the coffee you intend to brew. This really limits what you can do with this filter. I won’t take stars off because I did not notice the issue; there is one photo that could have warned me off if I’d paid more attention. My wife uses a vacuum thermos for her coffee that is much taller than how she fills it, so we have a use for this. And, I can say that the larger-pored one makes great coffee, with less particles than the filter it replaced. So, thumbs up.
