Great alternative to a towel
We have tried a few different things for drying mats as rags just by themselves lead to soggy ruined counters. This mat does a really good job as long as you are not soaking it.-It came well packaged in a roll and did not take too long to regain flat shape.-It does not slide around at all like other mats we have used.-It does dry quickly and absorb a LOT of water.-I would not leave next to the sink because even though it can absorb a lot, too much and it just turns into a soggy mat that takes 24+ hours to hang dry.-On that note when you do need to clean the mat it does clean easily but will take 24+ hours to dry enough to use again.As well as this works I would suggest two so you can still save you space from a wet mess while the other is drying.

Stinks
This seems like a great product and it is except for the smell. There is a strong odor that doesn’t go away. It made my dishes smell and taste funny. I’m using it as a floor mat instead. Works great.

Useful for catching spills under flower pots.
I ordered this to use to catch spills from flower pots I have on wooden furniture. I tested it before daring rely on it to keep wood dry. Pouring some water on it with a layer of paper towels underneath I confirmed that indeed no moisture soaks through.They don’t have a large capacity for water. There are plant saucers made from diatomite that hold considerably more water and soak it up faster. These would only be useful for small spills such as some water dripping off leaves, not a full on overflow of a pots saucer.I think these would absolutely be fine for the advertised use of kitchen draining mat.

Works well for extra drying space
Occasionally, my dish drying rack is full, and yet I have more things to dry. This mat helps convert counter space into drying space. In the past, my wife and I would put down paper towels or other things when we needed extra drying space. This mat is a simpler, re-usable solution to that problem. It came simply packaged and rolled up. When we need extra drying space, we unroll it on our counter and place things on it to dry. When things are dry, we roll it back up and store it so we get our counter space back. It works well and seems to be well constructed. I would recommend this product.

A very handy mat to be used around the house
Kitchen Super Absorbent Draining Mat by Hushtong I got this mat because it was the right size to use for protection of the top of my clothes dryer. The mat does not slide around, and is sufficient thickness to protect the dryer from the abuse of daily operations. The mat absorbs moisture from wet clothes and laundry products, but dries very quickly. It is washable, and I consider that to be a plus. The texture of the mat prevents items slipping around, and the thickness protects glass bottles from being damaged. The mat would be excellent for draining dishes, but I believe consideration for use in protecting appliances is also a good idea. Also for example, in the cabinet bottom under the sink. I would recommend the Hushtong draining mat for draining dishes, or under the dish drainer to catch water. I would also recommend the mat for use as a protective cover in the kitchen, laundry, and shop. It is just a handy little mat. It might even make a nice mouse pad, it has a great texture.

Important to note that some of the pictures are misleading as to the size of this mat. It’s somewhat small. The size listed is accurate though, just make sure that’s the size you want. The mat will stay put on just about any smooth surface. It will absorb some water. It could have a number of uses, and at our house it is helping to contain some kitty litter.

perfect for my keurig
I have a large old keurig machine in my bonus room . It used to stand on a table mat but that wasn’t ideal . This draining mat is a good size without taking up all the counter space. It seems to repel water well and is easy to clean .Just what I was looking for

Very absorbant!
Any water or drips just disappear into the mat before your eyes. The grip under it is very tacky and isn’t likely to move on a smooth surface. Quality of the product overall feels high end. The top almost looks leathery, but acts in the complete opposite. Happy with it.
