Cultures for Health Continuous Kombucha Brewing Jar with Spigot | 5 Liter Glass Jar with Spout for DIY Fermentation | Long Term Kombucha SCOBY Hotel Jar | Daily Kombucha Tea Probiotic Drink Dispenser
FERMENTING MADE SIMPLE: This kombucha continuous brew kit is perfect for endless at-home fermentation, because not only is the large mason jar designed for making kombucha, but the spigot also allows you to keep the brewing cycle perpetually pedaling forward.
VERSATILE: There are multiple options for how to approach continuous brewing—once a batch of kombucha is done, you can either dispense and bottle all but 20% at once and add new sweet tea when you want to brew more, OR drain the kombucha as needed and add more tea at the end of the week.
PERFECT SIZE: This 1.3 gallon kombucha jar with spigot provides the ideal amount of space for continuous brew kombucha. Once you’ve drained most of the previous batch, you’ll be left with roughly a gallon’s worth of room for your next batch.
QUALITY MATERIALS: Glass is the best option for brewing kombucha, because it doesn’t scratch easily and won’t react to the acidity. Additionally, the stainless steel mesh top is breathable enough to provide sufficient airflow, while protecting your kombucha from fruit flies and other contaminants.
EASY TO CLEAN: Simply rinse your kombucha crock with lukewarm tap water (NOT hot); add a big of distilled white vinegar and shake, coating the inside of the jar; and turn upside down to drain any excess vinegar—no need to rinse, as vinegar promotes growth of good bacteria.

Customers say

Customers appreciate the brewing capacity, lid quality, and size of the kitchen product. They find it works well for brewing kombucha, has a nice mesh lid that allows gas buildup to escape, and is convenient to use. However, some customers are disappointed with the glass thickness and quality. There are mixed opinions on the glass quality and leak resistance.

    Durable for the kombucha environment
My personal favorite thing were the spouts. They are pretty heavy duty compared to cheapy products sold in stores. We’ve had batches going for several months now and have had zero issues. The bottles cleaned nicely the one time we cleaned them out, even the spouts. I would say I’d buy it again but I wont need to unless I break one. Oh! The lids! Those are my other favorite! It is a breathable mesh disc that fits under the screw on ring. Those are pretty darn cool too!

    Had to have a replacement
My first order arrived damaged because the spigot had come out of its packaging and broken the glass jar. Replacement arrived in perfect condition. The only trouble I’ve had is that the lid went on so tightly I haven’t been able to add tea to the jar. The opening is a good size for kombucha making, but too large for my hand.

Looked just right, but actually dangerous!
This looked like the perfect solution for brewing small kombucha batches. But the metal edges of the lid ring and the metal spigot covers are all RAZOR sharp. I cut my fingers THREE times cleaning it for initial use. I had already brewed up the first batch, so I needed it to brew this one batch, but I will be replacing this very soon.

    100% worth it
My kids love a continuous brew kombucha. They siphon off little bits right out of the first brew and then I’ll make a big batch for second fermentation. I’ve cheaped out and bought brewing jars with spigots that are cheaper from local stores and I always regret it. This has a much nicer spigot that actually flows out at a decent rate and isn’t plastic! and I love the top screen which looks much nicer and is much easier to wash and reuse than the cloth tops. I also love the big mouth that makes it easier to get in to clean or take apart the spigot. Totally worth it.

    Attaching the spigot requires tools
You’ll want a 3/4″ or 19mm socket and wrench (or a small adjustable wrench) to attach the spigot nut tight enough to avoid leaks (see pictures). The challenge is that you’ll need a deep socket which is quite big. I adapted it down to my smallest wrench. A small adjustable would have been better but I didn’t have mine to hand. I ordered a few of these, and sometimes the glass chips a bit in the area where the spigot hole is drilled. I got some food grade rtv silicone and put some on each gasket before I tightened it. Once that rtv cures, it’ll be leak proof guaranteed.

    Convenient brewing method
I’m a beginner at kombucha but this brewing jar made learning the process a breeze. I make hibiscus kombucha so don’t let the red coloring throw you for a loop, but the jar fosters the perfect conditions to grow a nice big scoby. All I’ve done to clean it is put some kombucha that had basically gone to vinegar on a paper towel and wiped the inside of the jar first, then the outside.

Made the first “booch” that didn’t taste terrible to me
I bought this as a Christmas present without realizing someone else bought a different kombucha jug already. The other jug was ceramic like the old one, but this one is clear glass, so you can see what’s actually going on in there (not that you’d ever really WANT to see the Mother; best to not think about it too much). My wife likes to see the bubbles and know how well things are progressing. The lid with the mesh part is a nice improvement, too, over the cloth-held-in-place-with-a-rubber-band method used by the other jug she received, and the old one we’ve been using for years. There’s no way this lid will accidentally fall in the jug, not be tight enough or bunch in one area so that fruit flies can crawl inside, or be a gross mess when the Mother is an over-achiever, grows too big, and becomes one with the cloth.Full disclosure: I can’t stand the stuff myself. In the past, my wife would brew stuff that tasted like apple cider vinegar or some fruit juice that you forgot about and fermented in the back of the fridge. Don’t ask me how I know what that tastes like. Anyway, I don’t know if it’s the brew, the Mother, or this jug, but since Christmas, she has been through two or three cycles already and it doesn’t taste half bad. The old jug took twice as long and that other ceramic jug from Christmas is still working on its batch. Maybe it’s the light that can pass through the glass, I don’t know. I got her a heating pad, too, to maintain the temperature, but that didn’t fit, and it seems to be working fine without it.

Intended use is for continuous brewing of kombucha and needed a large glass vessel with a spigot. The item seems fit for purpose. The spigot is a bit fiddly to attach and the hole in the glass into which it fits had some sharp edges that needed care to avoid cuts to fingers.
