We have been using these for a couple of weeks now and they are working great. One is specifically designed for salt which means that it won’t corrode. the only complaint I could think of is that they take a lot of batteries (6 x AAA) for each mill

I wanted to love these. They are very beautiful (as salt and pepper grinders go) and it’s very nice to have an electric salt and pepper shaker. After having a different model for many years (which are no longer available) I chose to try these (despite the expense!). The salt literally ran through the mechanism, even after numerous attempts to adjust the coarseness of the grind. The salt I use is the same salt as I used in my previous grinder and does need to be ground. The pepper grind was better – but you would have to wait a month of Sundays (almost literally) before you managed to grind any useable amount for a single dish. I attempted to adjust this as well, no luck. Suffice to say, for this price, I expected it to be at least as good as my old set (at half the price). To be honest, I expected this set to be better, but would have settled for just as good. Thank you amazon for your wonderful return policy.

Don’t get burnt buying a cheaper product! Spend the Money!
This is the 4th mill set that I have had in 10 months. This one grinds very fine. The chamber seems small but due to the fact that it grinds fine it uses fewer products. I haven’t had it long enough to tell you if it will outlast the others I’ve had but I do like this one the best. The blades seem like they are better quality then the others and when it grinds it doesn’t stain to chop and bog down the motor. I have had it for about 6 weeks and haven’t had to change the batteries or refill the chambers. I liked the sets I had from Sams but the quality was bad. The first set lasted for about 3-4 months, the second about the same but when it went out it got REAL HOT the batteries burnt my hand and stayed hot over 30 minutes. I thought the batteries were going to explode. We won’t talk about the ones I purchased from Wal Mart. After that I decided to pay more money and try to find a better quality product.

Works fantastic
They are ever ergonomic and easy to fill. They gind with ease. Changing the batteries is super simple. The adjustable grind setting work great and give you a great amount of control.

Value vs. cost, good value. / Grinds much, grinds well.
I was just using this set which I bought here about 14 months ago and just now thought to drop a review here. It’s a good value. For a long time I had a very expensive set made by Peugeot that I liked, but was always a chore to fill or change batteries in. One of the plastic motors separated down the middle, but I managed to “keep it together” use for a few more years. When a family member broke one of those over a Thanksgiving dinner 2 years ago, I bought this set and have been very happy, value / cost wise… Grinds much, grinds well. ( Review is for Cole and Mason electric grinders B008KZHXRK ) I read another review here that someones salt grinder “rusted” which is odd to me. Be advised if you don’t read the instructions that each unit of the set has different grinding mechanisms. The ceramic mechanism is one COLE & MASON Richmond Electric Salt and Pepper Grinder Set – Stainless Steel Electronic Mills Include Gift Box, Gourmet Precision Mechanisms and Premium Sea Salt and Peppercornsthat is intended for salt. ( I got mine from Amazon for $46.00, 14 months ago)

Don’t buy. Read my review
Not happy with results. Although they look very nice the pepper takes excessive time to grind. I use normal peppercorns. The most discouraging aspect is these go through batteries like crazy. Each unit takes 6 AAA batteries, and under average use lasts us only about 3 weeks ( energizer brand) so it gets expensive. Lastly, I want thrilled over how little amount of salt or pepper each unit holds. I was constantly refilling them. I said “was” because I finally got so discouraged I put them “away” in the back of my cabinet and reverted back to the cheap disposable no-name brand grinders from the grocery store that grind faster, better, and are cheaper than the cost of batteries for these grinders

Great product…
These work fantastic. I had another style that operated automatically when turned over which was cool, but motor died on the pepper one.Only con would be that it holds less than the ones I previously had, but it’s still plenty. Filling them aren’t much different than others I’ve used and owned.I like that one is made specifically for pepper and the other salt, iirc.

Okay,so 60 bucks is a little steep for a set of salt & pepper shakers,but once you use these,you’ll be impressed as I was. Fresh ground pepper and sea salt on my meals has never been easier. Each mill/grinder has a “p” or an “s” on it to tell them apart(in case the color doesn’t give it away!). The pepper mill has a a steel grinder,while the salt mill has a ceramic grinder(because salt is corrosive to metal). On the bottom of each mill is a knob to adjust the coarseness of the grinds. There isn’t a light beneath the mills as I have seen on other electric grinders,but who cares,I’m not eating in the dark. These grinders look great on the table and I have been very happy with them,this was 60 bucks well spent.

Buy a lot of batteries
Takes 6 AAA batteries, and they run out fast under normal usage. Holds a very limited amount of pepper and salt since the motor and battery section is so large. Other than that, it works well and distributes a more even amount over the food.
