Very nice grinders
These are quality salt and pepper grinders. I purchased the copper tone set. Theyâre a little pricey, but Iâm always willing to pay a little more for quality items. These sit on the window sill of my kitchen sink. They match my antique cooper faucet and paper towel hold perfectly. Very satisfied with this purchase. Saw a review that showed the top shell of the grinder separating from the inner plastic top that is twisted to dispense the salt/pepper. If that were to occur in the future, thereâs plenty on area to apply a couple drops of gorilla glue to resecure the outer shell, but for the price of these things, Iâm hoping that was just a fluke issue with that buyer. Love the adjustable bottom of both grinders which allows user to dial in for fine, medium or course granulars.

Easily Adjustable. Beautiful. High Quality. Just what I was looking for.
It was time to replace my first Cole and Mason Pepper grinder I bought over 5 years ago. It was starting to skip while grinding. I looked at it. My husband took it apart. It didn’t help. I groaned when I realized I was going to have to buy a new one. My search started about 6 months ago. I wanted the same Cole and Mason pepper grinder. The problem was there were many of the model I had around. I was having a kitchen tool party and decided to purchase a different brand through the party. It was expensive. It lasted less than 6 months before it stopped grinding. This is how I remember grinders. Breaking very easily.I ordered a different model of Cole and Mason grinders next. The problem was though it was adjustable, it was only adjustable by turning the top knob. It didn’t really change the grind much. The insides were also small. I returned it. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a grinder but then saw this one.It looked like what I wanted. This has the plastic barrel where the pepper/salt are kept. It is adjustable by turning the dial close to the bottom of the grinder. I decided to give it a try.This is just what I was looking for.The barrels hold enough salt or pepper that I am not constantly filling it. I can see inside so I know exactly how much is in each of them. They are beautiful. Something I like to put on the table.I can adjust the grind by using the dial near the bottom of the grinder instead of the knob on top.The pepper grinder: It comes set at 3. This is a perfect grind for me. It is easy to turn. I do find that when I try to grind very fine on 1 or 2, the turning is stiff and more difficult. Take the setting all the way to the max and the grind is coarse.The salt shaker: I have this set at 3 also. This is a fine grind. I think a little finer than table salt. Anything below that is more like a powder.

I really love these beautiful Cole & Mason Salt & Pepper Grinders (I bought the pepper grinder after the salt grinder arrived, because I love it so much). I LOVE the copper, but there are many other choices. The Grinders are both really high quality. They work perfectly. They would also make a lovely gift. They are not too heavy and they are easy for my tender hands to operate, which is to say that they are easy to turn and easy enough to change the size of the grains.

Mostly great, but…
Overall a great pepper mill. Definitely notice a difference in grind size on each setting, from extremely fine to very course and everything in between. Easy to hold, easy to grind, works great except after a month or so of use I still don’t find it very intuitive to adjust the grind setting. It should be super simple, but you have to grab/hold it just right to make the adjustment. I don’t change settings every day so I have to play around with it each time. I know eventually it will become second nature, but I wish it was a bit easier. Minor gripe though – overall it is well worth the money!BTW, it came with peppercorns already loaded in, but I had also purchased the Tone’s peppercorns and the Tone’s are amazing – definitely the best peppercorns I have purchased!

A good pepper grinder!
This pepper grinder works great. My only concern is that it’s difficult to turn if you have greasy or wet hands. It’s a slick design and looks elegant but is so smooth that my hands can’t always grip tightly. I have had this pepper grinder for at least a year and it never fails to grind pepper the way I like it. It’s easy to clean and fill and is durable. There is no battery associated with this item.

I own another style of grinder by this brand, and since my other cheaper grinders just broke, I went looking for something by Cole and Mason. Their grinders are the best quality. They are easy to fill and easy to operate, and their mechanisms are very durable. I know these are expensive and that is why I hesitated for a few days before purchasing, but after reading countless reviews and comparison shopping on other sites I went with these. There only ever seemed to be cheap quality or high quality, nothing in the middle, and I decided instead of replacing cheaper ones every few years, I would just buy the good ones. My other set has lasted about 6 years so far without a hint of concern, whereas Iâve replaced the cheaters sets twice already. I believe these will last a lifetime. And they are pretty 🙂
