Honestly, I kind of always need a pretty fool proof design as I tend to make a lot of mistakes so, while this one did a good job, there are still certainly ways in which you can screw it up so I’ll save you some time:DO NOT lift from the lid/handle when steeping as the lid will not go on fully when the filter is in it and in use. I am 100% convinced it is only a matter of time before I, or my husband, accidentally pull it out of the fridge the wrong way and send everything flying. This is the reason I’m giving it 4 not 5 stars.Another thing to note is the handle strength feels disproportionate to the bottle. It’s holding up fine so far but I just am not 100% confidant in my ability not to break it one day.Things I love: The screen/strainer is fantastic and will definitely have used outside of cold brew. I can see it making some great iced tea and lemon water. The jar is glass and the plastic is BPA free.

I bought this, not for cold brew coffee, but to use as a tea maker! It’s been perfect for brewing tea—the dense filter keeps all the tea ingredients separate from the water. It’s just the right size to hold about six tea bags, and I let it steep in the fridge overnight to make a tea concentrate I can enjoy over the next few days. Really pleased with how versatile and easy it is to use.

I love this coffee maker. Very well made! Makes a lot at one time. Much better than one I had before.

Far superior to Takeya.
I drink both cold brew tea and coffee. I just brewed some coffee, so I decided to give this a try on tea. I typically use loose tea. My current brewer (meant for tea) always leaves some debris in the tea. This brewer, with its excellent filter, left nothing but clear, beautiful, delicious tea. I like the size – 64 oz. is the minimum size I look for since my tea glasses are 26 oz. and I want more than two servings out of a batch. I like the weight of the glass jar – yes – it is a little heavy, but I’ve had those borosilicate tea pitchers (much thinner glass) spontaneously break in the dishwasher. I have no fear of that with this one. The manufacturer thoughtfully provided some nice features – there is ribbing on the lid so it is easier to unscrew and the spout locks securely. TIP: when you make a pitcher, tighten the lid enough so it doesn’t leak, but don’t overtighten. If you overtighten, it is hard to get the lid off. The silicone seal is highly effective, and you can even store this pitcher on its side in the fridge (after brewing). Here’s a TEA BREWING TIP – when you are in a hurry to enjoy your iced tea, add your tea to the filter and pour in 3 cups of hot water (just hot tap water is fine). Let it sit from 5-15 minutes (depending on how strong you like it), then fill with cold water and ice. You can enjoy fresh brewed iced tea in less than 20 minutes! And it will be delightful from this brewer. One last TIP – to clear the filter, at least for tea, I like to let it dry and then tip it out of the filter into the compost. Then clean the inside of the filter. Or dump what you can of the wet tea out, and then let the rest dry. It usually doesn’t take a full day. Then the rest of the dry tea just falls out of the filter. FIVE STARS for this wonderful brewer!

I don’t like the type of plastic as it doesn’t seems food grade and doesn’t state on the description. The handle on the jar, that i didn’t notice before ordering, is really short in comparison to the jar itself and I worry that it will break eventually. I’ve had some hiccups due to user error which is silly because its supposed to be simple but actually isnt. Def read all the reviews before purchasing. It is right on the money at $25 though. Wouldn’t pay a cent more.

No claims are made with respect to the type of glass but for the time being I’ll just assume that is’ made of borosilicate glass (and it’ll just be garbage if it’s not) (claimed, unverified) and it’s fairly thick and do appear to be of decent quality; however, the handle/lid feels cheap and it’s too flimsy to my linking. It’s not exactly poorly made but it’s definitely not of quality material in my eyes in comparison to many others of similar design and/or style. Though, I’ll say that the LID is VERY tight and difficult to open so while it’s not poorly made, I supposed it IS poorly designed. Btw, the handle also seems too short for the size of the glass jar and coincidently the handle is of the exact size as other pitchers that I have which is about half of size (volume-wise).It has a silicone gasket underneath the lid to prevent or at least minimize leakage; however, it does NOT have one for the spout which is a bit of a bummer. It doesn’t necessarily leak at the moment even without the silicone gasket but my suspicion is that it will leak sooner rather than later due to the fact it’s absent (and of course the fact that most others do have one).✘ Unfortunately, the black plastic (handle/lid etc) does NOT have any RIC (Resin Identification Code), colloquially known as the ‘plastic recycle number’, on it. For instance we all know RIC 5 aka “plastic number 5” or ‘PP number 5’ is amongst the safest type of plastic used as food containers or dishware etc.Plastic with RIC 5 (PP or polypropylene) or 2 (HDPE or high density polyethylene) stamped on it is probably the safest bet (if there is such a thing for plastic but I digress) for plastic used for food, with 4 and 1 being the least desirable, in that order. PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) has RIC 1 which in my mind is NOT exactly food friendly and it certainly wouldn’t be my first choice for food but it is the MOST recyclable type of plastic which is one of the reasons they are also the cheapest to produce in most situations.Well, the lid/handle does NOT have anything on it and it’s completely unmarked (well, at least for mine) so would I tell if this plastic is indeed food-safe or even food-grade? Btw, food-safe and food-grade are 2 distinctly different things and in generally food-grade products are of higher quality/assurance. Personally, I’d like to see PP #5 for anything that’s used for food (or anything I’ll consume really).Btw, MOST of the transparent plastics do contain BPA/BPS (or any other Bisphenols in general) and I wouldn’t even bet a Toonie on the truthfulness and/or accuracy of any of these claims without any indication that they are in fact what they claim to be. PET plastic is hardly the best choice as food-grade plastic because it’s amongst the least desirable type of plastic for food, for me anyway. On the other hand, the ultra-fine stainless steel filter does appear to be fairly well-made and of decent quality in comparison so that’s not too bad.≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a somewhat decent glass pitcher with lid and a stainless filter that seems reasonably well made and works just fine if you don’t care about whether the plastic is safe for what/how it intends to be used. It’s somewhat reasonably priced at $25what it provides and its overall build quality, usability, versatility, and performance; however, I have safety concerns regarding the unknown type of plastic used. Your mileage might vary.

I like a stronger coffee so I added more grinds and let it steep for 48-72 hours. The coffee filter is easy to clean so that is great being it is tall and narrow. So far I am very happy with the brewer. Just be sure that the rubber seal s in place properly before tightening the lid. I didn’t check and I had a bit of a spill.

Oh, Cold Brew Coffee Maker, where have you been all my life? It’s like you swooped in to rescue me from my love-hate relationship with coffee-making. I love coffee, but making it? Not so much. Sure, I could keep shelling out cash at my local caffeine dealer, but that habit was starting to feel like a very expensive subscription to “Wide Awake Monthly.”When I heard cold brew coffee was as easy as overnight oats, I thought, “Sign me up for this lazy person magic.” After some serious internet sleuthing (read: skimming reviews while half-asleep), I chose this cold brew coffee maker. Why? Great price, easy to use, and reviews that basically screamed, “Buy this, you won’t regret it.”Fast forward to this morning—my first cup. Let me tell you, I am now both awake and highly impressed. This little contraption turned my kitchen into a budget-friendly coffee shop, minus the awkward small talk with a barista. If you’re a sleepy, slightly lazy person looking for a fun, low-effort way to caffeinate your mornings, this is your new best friend. Highly recommend—your wallet and your taste buds will thank you!
