Not a coffee drinker, but I do make yoghurt often. Just pop this in the bowl after the yoghurt is done, whey strains into the cylinder for easy ladling out and I’m left with lovely thick Greek yoghurt.Less clean up required compared to using muslin/cheesecloth and a colander.

Fits perfect in 32oz Mason jar
October 2024: I received a three-piece product (filter, scoop, rubber seal). Very convenient for my coffee cold brew. I keep it in my fridge. Just be sure NOT to loose the rubber seal as it helps from leakage when shaking your mason jar.

This works exactly as advertised, and is a good deal for the price.
This is a simple metal mesh column that fits a wide-mouth Ball jar. I haven’t used it for more than a month, but it’s sturdy, hasn’t rusted (so far), and fits the task. I’ve also had good results using it on the large Ball jar, so didn’t buy the larger size. I’ve been using 4 heaping scoops (of the enclosed scoop) and steeping for 18-24 hours (for both large and small size jars) and it seems to come out fine. If you go by this process, I’d also advise trying more coffee (5-8 scoops) with less time (12-18 hours) to see if you like the taste better. The beauty of this system is that you can always dilute it if it’s too strong. On a final note, I always use filtered water FWIW…

This is the best I’ve ever had and I’ve been drinking iced coffee for over 20 years. I got the larger one because it saves me time and last two days rather than using the smaller 16 oz that I would use up the coffee in one day. Easy to make this iced coffee with this product and also easy cleanup.

Almost perfect solution
Before purchasing this, I used to make my cold brew with a coffee sock in a large tub. The cylinder is much easier to clean. However, it does have some drawbacks. My ratio is 1 cup of water to 1 oz (by weight) of coffee. I typically brew 8 cups of water with 8 ounces (by weight) of coffee. This is an 8 ounce jar, but the tube will only hold 7 ounces of coffee (by weight). I adjusted for that and make a 7 ounce batch now. The system works well and I like the fact that it is all self contained. The filtering system works well, but the bottom screen does not drain water down. The only draining is from the sides. It is a little annoying because after brewing, it would be great to just pull up the cylinder and let the water remaining in the coffee drain downward. That does not work. I have to lay it on an angle in a strainer over a large bowl or measuring cup to let the remainder of water (usually the last 1/2 to 3/4 cup) drain out. It is a little annoying, but the ease of cleanup is great. It is much easier to rinse the cylinder than to invert a canvas pouch and clean the inside. My biggest issue is that the silicone gasket at the top, that is supposed to seal the jar in the lid is just awful. It is loose, hard to keep on the cylinder and at times doesnât seal properly. I have had a few leaks when I am agitating the jar to ensure full saturation. It isnât a deal breaker, but that could be designed better.

Great tea infuser
I purchased this tea infuser along with one from County Line Kitchen which was twice the price. I kept this one and returned the CLK one because I didnât see the difference in quality for the price. I like this one because I can get my hand in it to get out any tea leaves that wonât shake out since itâs the same size all the way down. I use a glass measuring cup with it and not a mason jar because Iâm brewing hot tea. Iâve had it about a month and itâs done very well.

Absolutely A Game Changer!!!
I decided to go with this particular 2 qt wide mouthed reusable filter because it wasn’t tapered at the bottom and it has the screening on the bottom also.I’m relatively new to making my own cold brewed coffee but after making just one 2 qt jar NOT using any type of filter/strainer… having to carefully drain, strain and repeat … trying not to make a huge mess and finding another jar large enough to hold what I was straining… I decided that I absolutely needed this filter.I just made my first jar of cold brew coffee yesterday… it was like magic. Easy to drain, easy to tap grounds out, easy to wash out. I just put a paper coffee filter over my sink drain to catch any grounds that didn’t shake out… Easy peasy.I’m sure it is going to be absolutely delicious… eager to make my first cold brew tea with it in my “spare” 2 qt jar!!! 😉

Get your return on investment after one use! (Especially if you, like me live by a fancy coffee place that sells 20 oz cold brew for $8, full of iceâ¦ ð¸)I use mine every weekend and brew three cups of cold brew for the week. My 10 oz bag of coarse grounds lasts a little more than a month.I used to fumble around with smaller tea strainers and made a mess, trying to strain the grounds several times a week, or several times each batch if I wanted more than one serving. Bummer, cuz I still ended up with lots of grounds at the end. I then tried the cheese cloth option as wellâ¦ still left a mess squeezing the bag after the brew. So this food grade strainer is amazing!!! No fuss, no mess, I can make it as strong as I like and in larger quantities, and works perfectly with my tall, wide mouth mason jars and lids. Three 1/4 cup scoops, 3 cups of water, and voila!!! Ready for the week overnight.I can make a âbuzzâ with milk and honey, a mocha with my favorite chocolate milk, make some coffee ice cubes, or add it to my chocolate cakes for a depth of flavor.
