This grinder is great for portable grinding of coffee for French press or drip coffee when you are out camping or on vacation. It is terrible for when you need a coffee in the morning before work and the grinds do not get fine enough for espresso. I’ll be returning this one.

Worked for a brief time but broke after perhaps 20 grinds. No support documentation or ability to return to working order so you get what you pay for.

Great grinder accept super annoying; the collection area isn’t threaded to it spills ALL THE TIME. Terrible for anything other than always standing upright. Not camping friendly.

Setting is a guessing game
I got the hand crank version since I’ve always had bad luck with electrical motors dying on me. The grinder is easy to use but the setting to change the grain coarse size is pretty much a guessing game. I started at the finest it would go and increased by 8 click increments, then 4 click increments, and ground a few beans at each increment till I got the grain size I wanted. I think around 28 clicks is what I counted to get the size for pour over grinds.

I really wanted to like this …
As mentioned by several it is slow. But it can grind coffee before your water boils, so that is not a huge issue for me. The two things that I can’t live with is:1. It stops a lot. I put coffee in it, start it and it grinds for a while and then stops. Okay, so it has done about enough coffee for almost a cup. I start it again, and it runs a shorter time. Start it again, shorter still. To grind a couple of scoops of coffee, I need to run it 3 or 4 times.2. Everything I grind in it makes metallic tasting coffee (at least to me). Weird since it has ceramic burrs and a plastic housing. I may just have to carry pre-ground coffee instead of grinding while on the road.Disappointed.Compact, easy to use, easy to clean, just doesn’t eventually make a cup of coffee I can drink.If the design if the user interface was not as good as it is, I would have given it 1 star for quality of coffee that it makes and the continuous requirement to start the grinder multiple times per use.

Not for flax seeds
I bought this to use as a designated grinder for flax seeds, and it performed poorly. It simply doesnât have enough torque or power. I returned it and got a plug-powered bodum instead (which works great). Canât testify to how well it grinds coffee beans.

Not worth it
I have used this for 2 months and it no longer works. It stopped working in the middle of grinding. It only grinds half of what is used for a full pot, so I had to grind two batches. Grinder is extremely slow. Should have just replaced the whole grind ‘n’ brew pot.
