Absolutely Excellent Decaf
I had to shop for about a year to find this decaf. It’s very low in caffeine but has great flavor and no residue of decaffeination chemicals. I blend this with regular caffeinated Colombian for my morning coffee, and drink this decaf in the afternoon.

Best decaf period
Almost all of the whole-bean decaf sold are dark roasts even if they say medium or light roast. In addition, Swiss Water Method removes most of the flavor and natural oils of the bean. The CO2 decaf method is superior in maintaining the flavor and removes more caffeine. Is more expensive to produce than SWM which is soaking in water and then re-combining the oils to re-introduce the flavor. This brand is the best quality, best tasting decaf beans I can find. I spent $$$ trying all in the market online and offline. With the exception of Illi Italian decaf beans, all the rest went to to trash because they tasted like burnt cigarette ashes. These coffee beans make rich, creamy smooth tasting coffee. If you are hesitant to buy 5 lbs , they also sell 1 lbs, look around to find it.

Worth It
I’ve been on a decaf journey lately. I transitioned from caffeinated to decaf, and along the way learned that how the coffee is decaffeinated is important. So I’ve been trying out coffees using the Swiss or CO2 methods. This is my absolute favorite. It’s rich and smooth, and has a nice Columbian flavor with cocoa aftertaste. I use a Jura Ena 3, and the coffee froths nicely. The price is worth it, and I’ll keep coming back for this one!

Excellent Quality – Flavor on the Weak Side
I’m on my third 5 pound bag of this CO2 Decaf Colombian coffee. I obviously have enjoyed it. The aroma and freshness of the coffee from Coffee Bean Direct is absolutely wonderful. For some reason the beans also grind terrifically without any static electricity that usually sends other grounds scattering. I like that. However, after buying my third bag of the Colombian beans I think I will move on to another decaf.I don’t know whether the Co2 process yields a weaker flavor or if it is just this particular roast. I have found that a normal portion of ground beans in a drip coffee maker produces a rather watery and weak coffee, not nearly worthy of the amazing smell of the beans. I keep using more and more coffee to get the most flavor out of the beans. This seems to work ok for now, but I now use almost 50% more coffee than is normally called for. I still like the brand though and look forward to trying another CO2 decaf roast from them next time.

Good quality beans, good taste
Good tasting decaf. Size, shape and color of beans is good. Not oily, wonât mess up your grinder. No broken pieces or weirdly small beans.

The worst coffee I’ve ever bought
I’ve been buying CBD coffee for nearly 10 years. Some is better than others but I’ve always been satisfied. This Colombian is the worst coffee I’ve ever drank. It tastes like mud. Store bought ground coffee beats this. The CBD penny pinchers is their lowest price blend and is 10x better than the Columbian. Peet’s, Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts ground coffee beats this 100%. Since Covid their prices have increased 50% and their bean quality has decreased 50%. I can’t recommend this at all. This stuff is completely unpalatable. I’ll be throwing away a $55 dollar bag of beans. I think I’ll be looking for a new roaster to order from.

Only buy this if you like Starbucks Drip Coffee
I was a little disappointed I gambled on a 5lb bag because the reviews were really good, but this is very bitter, very burnt and very Starbucks. It’s ineligible for a refund through Amazon so I did contact the company and they were very helpful. Hopefully I can get a more palatable bag of coffee

Surprisingly delicious
I am an unabashed coffee lover and I drink lots of it. I tend to like dark roasts & drink decaf because I drink so much. This coffee has a dark complex flavor and is surprisingly delicious especially for the price. It smells great comparable to a high end coffee. Give it a try!
