Customers say
Customers enjoy the coffee’s taste, value, and smoothness. They find it delicious, fresh, and a gourmet blend roasted to perfection. Many consider it a good value buy considering the end result and price. However, some customers feel the roasting was not light enough and overcooked, leading to an astringent flavor.

Good taste –
tasty and low acid
I switched from Mind Body Soul, to the Peru beans from City Girl. I haven’t been disappointed. No more acid reflux since switching, and the coffee is very pleasant, with a bit of a fruity taste, as they say on the bag.I hope that they really are helping women, as they say. That would be a win.

Good cup
I drink a lot of coffee by anyoneâs standard. Find myself disappointed unfortunately in many Brewster purchase that run the gamete on price, however, this find really surprised me. It makes a great consistent well balanced flavorful cup of coffee that I look forward to. Finally! Recommend.

Mid-Range “House” Blend
I wanted to love this coffee, primarily to support the effort for organic cultivation of coffee and women-owned companies. Unfortunately, the coffee is just okay. It is what you might find on a menu as the “house” blend, mid-range, medium roast (which I prefer), no particular taste or flavor elements (i.e., chocolate, fruit, spice), nuance or subtleties. It is bland. It’s just “okay”. This considered, the price is a bit high. Compared to other organic, single-sourced, trade grown, etc., options, this does not rate highly. Compared to Starbucks or Peet’s (which offer organic blends and are sometimes on sale), this also comes up short. Really wish I could have supported this wholeheartedly, but the product is just okay.

good coffee, good price, ethical choice
Assuming that the product information is accurate; buying this helps women who are usually struggling to get by. At the same time, it is a good tasting inexpensive whole bean coffee.

Have been to Honduras twice, hands down the best coffee I have had from the region!
If you like your classic South American Coffee’s this is right up your alley!Acidty: MediumFlavor Profile from French Press: Milk Chocolate, Caramel, Cream, Sugar Cane, lightly floral, super light earthy.A downright amazing brew, even my not regular black coffee drinking friends were amazed at this bean, it smells like hot chocolate and that carries through in the taste but it has a very complex mix of flavors after the initial overwhelmingly sweet taste subsides. Enough acidity to feel zippy but smooth it honestly could be a Medium-low in that regard. Can’t wait to try the rest of City Girl’s roasts.

Whole bean….I grind my own. Great flavor.
It helps female coffee growers. I’m happy with the quality.

Dark roast and no flavor
This is a very DARK coffee, which I was not expecting of a Central American bean. I tried it as pour over and French press. It is also pretty bland. The Central American coffees I’ve purchased in the past usually have a bit of sweet and toffee/nutty flavor. Needless to say, we will be throwing this bag of beans away.

Not a light roast. If you prefer medium+ coffees labelled as ‘light’, this coffee is for you.
Advertised as light roast, brewed product presented itself as more of a medium+ roast. Used a 1:25 coffee to water ratio using pour over method, so with that being a high water to coffee ratio, any characteristics of it being a darker than Light roast are valid, as those darker roast notes are still coming through even with a high water ratio. When inspecting the beans, it is immediately noticeable that the package contains medium light brown beans, but they are oily, which is a characteristic of darker roasts, which may explain the overall impression of this being a darker roast than a light roast. In itself, the product is of acceptable quality; there are no overly bitter edges, immediate impression is of fudge, with moderate finishing notes of almond/hazelnut. Low+ notes of acidity, again another characteristic of a darker than light roast. A good value buy considering the end result and price, I just wish it was an actual light roast, as I purposely purchased the product believing it was indeed a light roast.
