Great value for the money
This decaf and chicory isn’t as acidic as straight decaf, and it’s so much cheaper. I like my “coffee” strong, and when brewing a pot in my old school Mr. Coffee Maker I typically have to hit the dark brew and add an extra scoop into the basket to make my coffee strong. With CDM, if I put in 7 scoops, I can add 7 cups of water, and it’s still strong.I switched to chickory decaf mix because my stomach couldn’t handle the acidity. This mix is smooth. Other more finely ground and even smoother brands do taste a tad better BUT they’re twenty cents an ounce more expensive. For the price, I’ll stick with CDM.Here’s a tip for my fellow former five cups of coffee a-day addicts: Put one scoop of full-caff coffee into this blend, and you’ll have one strong cup of coffee a day but dosed over several cups.It’ll keep that caffeine pick-me-up going but over a longer period without the shakiness.

Great product, was a great price but now sucks!
I have to admit, I’m a hopeless CDM addict and have been for about 35 yrs. When I lived in CA, I’d take an extra suitcase when I went home at Christmas to load up with CDM. When I moved to SA, I drove back for Christmas and loaded the back end of my vehicle. Since Katrina, “home” isn’t there anymore. I can buy it at the local grocery store, but only in cans and it’s ridiculously priced. I ordered from several different online stores for about 6 yrs, including Amazon, but it was all cans and/or more than I wanted to pay. I have been a subscriber since Amazon started carrying the vacuum packs. Besides being great tasting coffee, it’s the only one that doesn’t upset my stomach, and I can drink it at midnight and go right to sleep. (only did that once but I was long overdue for my caffeine fix and didn’t care if it kept me awake, but it didn’t) It IS an acquired taste, however, a lot of it just a matter of figuring out how to brew and “season” it. I never used milk or cream in my coffee until I started drinking CDM in 1977 and I make it like the standard cafe au lait! Yum. Nothing compares. It takes far less CDM to make a great pot of coffee than it does the other coffee and chicory products, and I’ve tried all of the major brands sold in New Orleans, even the more expensive ones. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, CDM is THE best and Amazon’s price is the best, particularly with subscription.UPDATE – AUG 2013–New pricing is more than 30pct higher than what I was paying just a month ago. Not a happy camper!

Dark Roast Full Flavor–and it’s Decaff?!
Omg, this is my new favorite.So, I’ve been old for awhile and my caffeinated beverage cutoff is before 3pm or I don’t sleep. I’m super picky about coffee. SUPER. PICKY. I’m talking specific brands, specific profiles, medium-dark roast, fresh ground, fresh brewed in my French press. My current favorite is Cameron’s Jamaican something about mountains. It’s a dark roast and has that robust in your face, yet never bitter with a flavor profile that has that needed hint of chocolateyness. But I needed something for the rest of the day once my morning cup is gone. This is it!So definitely, you don’t need as much of this as a normal cup of coffee. Or you’re going straight for a giant cup of espresso. The flavor is rich and profound, and just like all of my preferred coffees, it doesn’t come off bitter or have that icky canned coffee taste it tastes like my fresh ground dark roast coffee! And it does give me a lovely coffee energy boost but I can still drink it and go straight to bed just like I used to with regular coffee. In fact, I have to drink as much water with this as I do with a cup of espresso or my stomach gets mad and asks me what I’m doing with my life. LolBut yeah, you’re a picky coffee drinker who likes fresh ground dark roast coffee that isn’t bitter? Try this, it’s super amazeballs.

Great New Orleans Coffee
if you’re a fan of good strong coffee with chicory, this coffee is great. besides being really great strong coffee, it used to be one of the cheapest coffee on the market. although now the prices keep rising, just like everything else. still a pretty good buy. it used to be available in my local Walmart, but they quit carrying it, for some strange reason. thank goodness for Amazon.

Best Coffee & Chicory
I love this coffee & chicory. I grew up on chicory coffee and want nothing less. This is thick strong coffee with a smooth flavor. Absolutely my favorite.
