So Far, So Good! ð±ðµ
I bought this as a gift for my 16 year old son who is obsessed with succulents! The product price & title was good enough for me to warrant a further glance at the details! When it came in I was shocked at how nice it is!! There are multiple seed packets in it with detailed instructions on what to do & how to do it. The wooden box is well crafted and beautiful. You can use it for anything you deem necessary! We are going to take time this week to set it up & hopefully grow our own succulent garden! I do not know if we will be successful but we will give it our very best try & I will take photos & document our progress. I hope that I can edit my review here to include some good news! If not, then Iâll reference this review and post an update. Wish us luck on all our cacti endeavors & hereâs to you for starting your very on spiny plant flora farming!

The best purchase Iâve made!
This kit is amazing! It comes with everything you need to start your seeds! The best part is that they have a Facebook group that you can join to see other peopleâs plant adventures and get advice. Please note that not all your seeds may sprout, and thatâs okay! This is not a magic kit that guarantees the seeds will sprout. A couple of mine didnât and I was able to talk to someone from Garden Republic who helped me set up a plan to try to help mine sprout. If they donât, you have extra seeds to start over! They also help you figure out what you can do better for your seeds the second go around! Even if you have a black thumb, I would highly recommend this kit! You will have successful sprouts and eventually full grown cacti and succulents if you use all of the resources they have. This company is incredible and has helped every person who asks for it!

Good product. Give your seedlings a TON of light.
Bought two, one for Mom and one for me, as a project we could do together. I have gotten into succulents and cacti during the âyear at homeâ, and she has followed along.Short version: my opinion is that this is the best all-in-one grow kit available. I give 4 of 5 stars because it advertises too much ease and there is one significant design flaw.Longer version: Iâm learning to grow from seed in general, this kit was one of many experiments.Unboxing was delightful, well-packed, beautiful, a great woody scent…. all very gif table.As you can see in the photos I have germinated plump lil cactus seedlings. It works, and germination took about 8 days.However, I have had this success with a heat mat and grow lights. Not nearly with the âset it and forget itâ approach mentioned. My moms seedlings still have not germinated 15 days after planting without the mat.Without light, all seedlings of all varieties will grow tall and spindly. So absolutely I believe the seeds are legitimate, and also believe the struggles described in other reviews.Also, if you look carefully at the photos you can see a substantial amount of mold, along with a huge amount of cinnamon Iâm hoping will work as an anti-fungal.Mold means soil is too moist, so partly itâs on me. When I visited the Garden Republic website, a suggestion for dealing with mold was to put the labeling stakes into the soil as little as possible. When I pulled the stakes out, they were COVERED in mold. I tossed and replaced with more-generic labels I have at home. Iâm 90% sure the wood stakes were rotting below the surface, triggering some of the mold. The fact that this is listed in the website makes me think itâs a widespread problem, and therefore a pretty substantial design flaw.So overall, 4 of 5 stars. The best pre-created seed mix on the market and a great gift. But removing one star for the mold on the labels and the implication that growing seedlings is ever âeasy,â because you canât change biology.

Lovely Gift and Great For Beginners
I bought this as a gift for my brother, so I cannot speak to how viable the kit is, but he was over the moon. He adored the packaging and went through the entire e-book to prepare for sowing the seeds. I love how the kit has all the tools you need and provides you with the information to get started. I think heâs found a new life-long passion, so Iâm happy.Iâve made personal purchases from this company as well, and Iâve been extremely happy with all of them. I decided to try out the Garden Republic Mini Cactus Plant Starter Kit. It comes with everything you need to start the process of indoor gardening. It has a fragrance to it which gives me hope that these plants are going to turn out beautiful. This is great gift idea for your favorite gardener or a beginner & comes in a nice wooden box . This set even comes with a card to register your seeds in case you experience any issues. Wonderful that Garden Republic stands by their products & will even replace any seeds if they don’t grow. You can’t go wrong with this purchase! I’m a happy customer & can’t wait to see all 4 plants start growing & know I created something special. I highly recommend this company. Seeds Donât Sprout
I received this as a gift. The packaging is adorable. The idea is great. However, like many other reviewers, I had some dud seeds. My cactus seeds didnât germinate. My succulent seeds gave me one blade of grass. I followed the directions and even tried germinating them during a heat wave over the summer. But no plants aside from the very expensive grass grew. To top it all off one of my pots had a bunch of little holes in the burlap (see photo). So Iâd call this great concept but terrible execution.

Little to no variety in the “mixed” bags
I got this as a Christmas gift for a friend, it came in a nice box and had good instructions. However, the only succulents that have sprouted so far are the yucca plants that are shown in other reviews and none of the cacti seeds have sprouted despite my friend’s two attempts (once with each bag) over the past month and a half. My friend enjoys them and is just happy to be growing her own succulents but I’m kinda disappointed in it myself.
