Excellent Burr Grinder
I have had several different brands of coffee grinders, some of which I reserved for herbs, nuts and seeds, others which I have used exclusively for coffee. I like that this grinder offers the user 20 different grinds, from extra-extra coarse through extra-extra fine, so achieving a grind fine enough to make espresso is a snap. I have not tried this machine with anything really hard and big like a whole nutmeg – I would still use a hand file to get fresh nutmeg. But for coffee beans, this grinder has more than enough power, and delivers it quickly. It does the job well, is easy to clean, and is attractive and compact in the counter. I am glad to have this in my morning kitchen!

Grinds well and small footprint for countertop
I have a blade coffee mill that I use to make very fine grinds for a pour-over cone drip. Supposedly, blade grinders “burn” the coffee a bit as the whirling blade gets the beans hot when chopping to a very fine ground. A burr grinder supposedly can get the same even ground without the burn. The burr grinder can set the size to grind beans better than a blade grinder, which is just guess work. This one has 20 click settings on a wheel to select size (1=coarse; 20=fine).*Produces uniform grounds*Top Hopper holds up 2 cups of coffee beans*Wide variety of grind settings also allows adjustment in the size for different types of coffee beans or different brew types.*The grind setting dial “clicks” for each number so it doesn’t drift.*Small footprint, so it doesn’t take up too much counter or cabinet space (About 4″ x 9″).*It seems to have a low retention – almost everything makes it to the catch hopper.*There were no clumps although the catch hopper held the fine grinds to the sides and lid via static electricity.* The top grinder in the top hopper comes out with a twist and lift, but nothing else on top separates. The catchment hopper removes by pulling out. A small spring loaded ball bearing snaps it into place.*Both the tabs in the top hopper and in the catchment hopper have to be fully in place before the switch works. The top tabs might be delicate and the machine will not work if one breaks off.*The switch is fully off/on with no need to hold on.It handled hard coffee beans with no problem.Tried softer coriander on finest setting and it ground it up but not as fine on the same #20 fine grind setting as the coffee. The after-brew “paste” seemed just as fine as produced by my blade grinder.*Cleaning – the removable parts can go on the top rack of a dishwasher, but hand rinsing works well. Water can be used to rinse out the grinding area but it does say “Do not immerse in water.”Came in X-Black, Y-Black, & Z-Black and I couldn’t tell the difference. Everything in the product description is the same, even the model number, so I got the Z just for the letter. It looks just like the photo for the X version. So far, I can’t tell the difference in coffee taste between this “burr grinder” and my old “blade grinder.” This burr grinder is larger than the blade grinder and doesn’t fit as well in a cupboard. It does have the advantage of grinding and storing a bit more coffee ahead of time instead of grinding for each use.4 stars – It seems to work, but is a bit messier than a simple blade grinder (grounds stick to lid and canister).

Works fine. Easy to use.
This is a nice, small but powerful grinder. I love that it has a very small footprint and takes almost no space on the counter. It’s really easy to use. Just add the beans, turn the knob for grind size and press the on button. Nothing complicated. It’s has plenty of power and quickly and easily grinds the beans. It’s also easy to clean.

Burr grinder
The grind is a bit inconsistent, but it works for the French press that we use. Definitely quite loud. A more consistent grind would make this a 5. Definitely still a usable grinder though!

Compact with good adjustments
This coffee grinder from KEENSTAR is a compact unit and has 20 different grind settings. It is fast and efficient as well as easy to use. The factory packaging allows the grind blade to bounce around inside the grind compartment. This creates marks on the inside of the coffee bean hopper. It is easy to lock into place after it is received. The price at the time of this review is $69.95. I think this price is about the same as most other grinders of this size, for comparison.Based on the details above, my rating is 4 Stars.

I am in Love
There is very little better in my world than a wonderful freshly ground cup of my favorite coffee. I thought I already had that until this grinder came along. Actually I never even knew a burr type grinder existed. It’s very easy to use…..and just slowly grinds the beans…and its worth every second of the wait. I also never knew that blade type grinders can in fact burn the beans if ground too much. The burr method is a game changer and makes those delicious beans ever so much better. Its great that you can change the grind to be finer or more course….so you can use a french press, your favorite espresso machine or your regular coffee maker and they all are utterly delicious. I can never go back now……

Pleased with quality
This is my first coffee grinder. It looks exactly as pictured. It is small and does not take up a lot of space in the kitchen. So far I found it very easy to use. It only has an on and off button and a dial with 20 settings to adjust the coarseness of your coffee. I found that between 1-7 the coffee is very coarse and I used that to set up my cold brew coffee, between 8-13 for drip coffee and 14-20 makes it very fine for espresso. The grinder is not very loud and for my first grinder I am very happy with the product.
