Perfect for that morning cup!

Could definitely use some improvements
This grinder has some great features, like 28 grind settings for different brewing methods, a large 12-cup capacity, and an anti-static design to reduce mess. Itâs also easy to use and has a sleek, compact look. However, it can be noisy, feels less sturdy, and doesnât always grind evenly, especially for finer settings. It can also be a bit messy to use and clean. Overall, itâs a good choice for casual coffee drinkers but may not meet the needs of more serious coffee enthusiasts.

Works Great
This is a great coffee grinder. After you set the desired grind, it will produce the exact amount of coffee you need to make a great pot of coffee. My only complaint is that the hopper is only big enough to get you a 12 cup pot worth of coffee. I wish the hopper was bigger, so you could fill it up less often.Overall, an excellent purchase!

Fine, compact, easily adjustable electric burr grinder
I have been grinding my coffee beans for over 15 years with manual coffee grinders. I like that I can adjust the grind size to suit the coffee maker Iâm using, and I also appreciate the lack of noise first thing in the morning. Years ago I had an inexpensive electric blade grinder that was so loud it could wake the dead. There also was no consistency as to how it would grind the beans.While Iâm not giving up my manual coffee grinders, occasionally I just want a quick cup of coffee. I also might have a desire in the afternoon for something other than my usual French press coffee. Could be espresso, moka pot or pour over with paper or metal filters, all of which requires a different grind size. What struck me about this Caukins coffee grinder was how easy it seemed to be to adjust the grind size.And that certainly is the case. You simply turn the hopper to select one of 28 different sizes, from French press coarse to espresso fine. This is the easiest to adjust grinder Iâve ever seen. Itâs also nice that you can easily specify how many coffee beans you want to grind. Thereâs a rotary knob to adjust between 2 cups and 12 cups. You many need to play around with it to determine just how much you need, as cup sizes and coffee strength desired will vary. Still, it is nice to simply select the grind size, the amount and then just press the button and end up with a drawer filled with ground coffee. While itâs not as loud as I remember that old blade grinder being, I wouldnât say this is really quiet. Itâs fine in the afternoon, but I personally donât want to hear this much noise in the mornings, at least not before Iâve had a couple of cups of coffee.This is a compact unit. It takes up very little space on my kitchen counter which I appreciate. The bean hopper isnât huge, but that is fine with me. I donât want to keep my coffee beans exposed to air for long and I tend to add a few scoops of beans to the hopper every other day or so.The only item Iâm finding less than perfect is how difficult it seems to be to pull the drawer out of the unit. Thereâs a rather small tab to pull (at least small for me with my huge hand) and I sometimes struggle to remove it. Not sure if that will get better with use. Still, Iâd rather have it a bit tight than so loose that it comes out while the coffee is grinding.I can recommend this Caukins electric burr grinder. Very easy to adjust the grind size. Compact, not horribly loud, consistent grinding. A fine addition to my coffee making paraphernalia.

Excellent grinder with one small caveat
Without a doubt burr grinders are far superior to blade grinders for grinding coffee beans. They create a more consistent grind and don’t generate heat like blade grinders do. I often make coffee in a french press where grind consistency is essential to good results. Because the steeped grounds are ultimately filtered out through a fine stainless mesh too much fine dust can easily plug the screen and make plunging difficult and messy, often leaving silt in the finished coffee.I’ve been using a burr grinder for many years with great success. Unlike with a blade grinder where grind fineness is largely a product of how long you spin the blades and how effectively you circulate (aka shake) the contents around and into the spinning blades, a burr grinder has distinct fineness and quantity settings. Coffee beans move through the burrs once and are deposited into an integrated container so the grind is far more consistent.There’s a bit of a learning curve to find the best fineness and quantity, but a major features is that once set, the desired grind can be consistently repeated. This burr grinder does a great job at grinding coffee beans and I have no issues with the quality of the grind it produces. The grind adjustments range from fine to coarse with dozens of stops between. As I mentioned, learning what works best is a bit of a learning curve, but once set, it remains consistent.The only real issue I have with this grinder is that the hopper where the whole beans are placed is a bit too small. The quantity settings range from 1 to 12 and from my experience, the hopper will hold enough beans to complete perhaps 7 or 8 so I need to have more beans at the ready to resupply as it gets low.With that one small caveat I would otherwise recommend this grinder without reservation.
