Love this grinder never should have quit making it. First one lasted 26 yrs then only the blade broke did not know could replace blades at time, or still be running. Went through 2 grinders big name pricy units, in as many yrs, neither work as well as my Braun had. So happy to find at amazon but 7 x price from original. But work like a dream!

My former Braun coffee grinder lasted for 25 years old! So I was really worried that the quality of Braun would be diminished in comparison to that trooper of a product, because so many products these days go downhill in quality with replacing old school quality materials with plastic crap. However, so far after three months I have been wholeheartedly won over by this latest Braun iteration of my former model. It feels lighter, which initially made me really worried that all the fabulous metal parts were now replace with cheap flimsy plastic, but interestingly the motor sounds identical to the former on, and the blades are even sharper than the old one. Well, because after 25 years, yeah, the blades get dull.Overall, this product just performs great. So happy it is almost exactly like what I had. Still high quality! Woot! Glad it isn’t large so it takes up small real estate space in my kitchen. It seems to have tremendous power for such a small grinder, which is what I liked 25 years ago as well. This grinder just kicks out the power and performs.

This little grinder is one of the first purchases I made on Amazon, almost nine years ago. I’ve used this thing heavily–every single day. For a couple years, I used to whack it hard after each grinding to get all the coffee off the sides of the lid before opening it. I’m talking whacking the body against a solid wooden structure so loudly that it consistently served as the morning wake-up call for the people with which I lived. I seriously abused this little guy, until one day someone pointed out that I was putting undue strain on it–and sure enough, the plastic body was starting to crack from all the repeated whacking. So I stopped the whacking. That was back in, like, 2006. Five or so years later, it’s still going strong, with no discernible difference in performance since the first day I used it, despite the crack. In sum: If my experience is representative, this grinder is a trooper. You can use and abuse it and it will keep grinding away for you for the better part of a decade.Caveat for serious coffee snobs: This grinder will absolutely not get you an even grind. Then again, I’m pretty sure nothing in this price range will.

This is THE WORST grinder I have ever used. I see where it sells for upwards of 100.00. Seriously. Here is what happens–the grind is very uneven. You remove the cover and coarse ground beans fall all over your counter and cling everywhere; the finely ones adhere to the bottom of the bowl-you have to use a spoon to scrape them out. Expensive beans are too dear to lose half of them every time you grind. And it does not grind very much at one time. What a mess. Buy an Epica on Amazon–it is inexpensive and works very well. The best thing about it is the cord storage design at the bottom. I wish all counter top appliances had it.

You can get a cheap coffee grinder every two years and toss the broken ones into the landfill. Or you can buy the Braun and have it for life. I’ve had one for more than 40 years and it still works perfectly. I got a second one for a vacation home after buying a Krups that broke in less than two years. I couldn’t be happier with the Braun!

It’s simple. It’s small. It can grind enough coffee for a large home pot.I don’t use it very often, but that’s because I don’t really make coffee that often. It gets the job done, and does it fairly quickly and painlessly. It’s a bit noisy, but I think that’s to be expected. After all, you’re grinding coffee beans.I’ve strictly used this for coffee, not spices. I imagine it would do a fine job on spices as well, but given the smaller size of most spices, you should read a different review where someone has used it for that. However, if you do plan on grinding spices, buy 2. One for spices, one for coffee. The grinder is a little difficult to clean. It’s not submersible, and the blade isn’t removable. The top/lid is easy enough to clean (as it is submersible), but for the unit, I shake/tap it out onto a paper towel, and then use a new, damp paper towel to clean it out, and then dry it.The “not easy, though not quite difficult,” clean-up is what makes this 4 out of 5 stars, instead of 5/5.

My last coffee grinder was the Braun. It had to be 30 yrs old. I broke it accidentally. My daughter bought me a Krups. I burned that out in a week. It took 60 seconds to grind the beans where my krups took 16 secs. I was so happy to find a Braun again, same exact grinder!

I had this model for 25 years and it ended up with my son so I purchased another. This is a terrific coffee grinder and stands up to repeated use for years. I would recommend the Braun grinder to anyone. 🙂
