Ceramic is best for coffee. This keeps heat well with large capacity and high handle to fit in most car cup holders.

perfect for the one who wants to bring their regular mug in the car
My husband will only drink his coffee from a ceramic mug. This allows him to bring his mug in the car without driving me crazy. We only have a gazillion travel mugs, but he wants a regular mug. This solved the problem.

Pretty but donât hold heat much
I really love the warm color, fits in our car cup holder (subaru outback), and i love the size. The mug itself seems pretty sturdy too.What I donât likeâ¦ the lid, the thing that slides it broke when I was trying to clean it , I still use the lid for splash proofing in the car.Also, doesnât really hold heat that long, drink gets cold in like an hour to an hour and a half (with the lid), I was hoping it would last a little longer, but meh.Overall, I still love using it daily at home coz I appreciate how it doesnât negatively affect the taste of my drink and I can microwave if I really want it warm or hot.But Iâll probably continue looking for one that I can bring with me to work.

Not that great
While these mugs look really good, I got a grey and a black, they DO NOT keep your coffee/tea hot or even warm. You may as well have a regular ceramic mug with no cover. Also, when you first pour your hot drink, be very careful because the whole mug gets HOT the brown part on the bottom will not protect your hands from the heat. That being said, since they look so nice I will keep them for cold drinks with ice.

FANTASTIC MUG! Excellent design, no smell to the lid, my ideal sized cup of coffee or tea
First noticeable thing was that the pigment on the outside of the cup was way lighter than on the inside which was lovely. having said that, the quality of the cup/mug far outweighs the slight disappointment of less pigment in the glaze than expected.excellent seal on the lid. first filled cup half way, secured the lid and closed the spout before inverting to test the integrity of the seal. the lid did not leak at all when inverted nor when shook the cup with water in it vigorously for twenty seconds, perfect seal. that test was with water straight out of the tap. next filled cup with hot water (stove top, small bubbles forming on the bottom of the pan but not a full simmer) and repeated the same test-however with much more care due to the hot water for obvious reasons.next was the hot water taste test. generally not something i would select as a hot beverage but necessary to test for any residual taste from the plastic lid; there was no change in the taste of the water at all meaning that any hot beverage you put in the cup will not have any negative taste impact from the components of this mug.this mug is beautifully and pragmatically constructed. the base of the mug is not glazed so as to help secure it in the cup holder, it is far less likely to get bumped out of the cup holder because of the un-glazed(the terracotta bit) textured surface of the base. there is also a small ledge inside the rim of the mug that the lid sits perfectly upon. it appears that said ledge supports/increases the integrity of the seal, logically, when shaking the cup upside down none of the pressure of the water came into direct contact with the seal since the seal was protected by that ledge. ingenious design 🙂 the ledge is low enough to not interfere with drinking out of the mug/cup without the lid.you can also pour out of the lid of the mug(if you are inclined to share your hot beverage) with the lid tightly on but make sure to do so with conviction, as it were, tends to dribble if try to pour slowly or gingerly.the heavy cup/mug maintains your chosen temperature of the contents longer than most ceramic cups/mugs. can imagine that the cup/mug would be equally efficient for cold beverages as well.excellent gift for yourself or others whether for travel, the back yard or curled up on the sofa or in your favorite chair. comes in a nice box that would be easily gift wrapped.Update 12/13/2024: still loving this mug. And if using at your workbench a roll of duct tape-the good 3m stuff they have here on amazon-makes a great nonskid holder which doubles as insulation for the bottom part of the cup.
