    Inexpensive press
I prefer the plastic over the glass to reduce breakage. At first I thought was cheaply made compared to the metal I had before but actually it does the job effectively.

    Good Individual Coffee Press..
I like this press. Its enough for me to have a cup of coffee when I want one and not leave too much to waste. Its easy to take apart and unlike some other reviews, I havent had any problems with bits breaking. Then again I take care to unscrew the bits and pieces carefully and wash them all by hand. Its not too flimsy and the coffee so far hasnt left any marks at all on the plastic container. There is no after smell if I dont use if for a day or two (which is rare !) and it looks nice next to my silver thermos mug.

French Press Coffee Maker is the way to go !
We have been fans of this method since a trip to Europe more than 20 years ago. It seems every home had french press coffee makers. It was fantastic.First thing we did on return home was to buy it for ourselves . It was not easily available at that time , but we found some small ones in a specialty store. My husband drinks decaf coffee and I use regular, so two small ones are perfect for us. After years of great service we happened to knock one over and break it, It was easier to find french press coffee makers this time around . This french press beaker has a beautiful cover and it looks very handsome. It makes great coffee, too. I took off one star, because the plunger has a tight fit and one has to push it down very slowly and carefully. The same when pulling it up , it tends to splash up the grounds if you quickly try to yank it out. It is not a problem if one is aware of it and do it slowly.

    LAZY SOLUTION TO BETTER COFFEE
Here’s how I approached the decision to buy this product:* Don’t like the free coffee available at work* Too cheap to buy a single-cup brewing station (and I hear they’re big and loud)* BUT, not interested in boiling water and grinding coffee every day* And, don’t like hand-washing thingsBasically, I’m really lazy! Guess what, this French press still works for me.I buy a pound of coffee at Starbucks and ask them to grind it for a French press. I keep it in two Ziplock bags from then on.Each morning I put three scoops into the BonJour and use the hot water tap on our work coffee machine (see the customer image I posted). Wait 4 minutes, press and drink!I rinse it all out afterwards and wipe with paper towels; once a week I take it home for a dishwasher cycle.I’m sure that any coffee connoisseur would CRINGE at how I do this, but I’m not aiming to make the world’s best cup… only to exceed the crud I am otherwise stuck with at work. I think the next best alternative would be to buy Starbucks Via packets.***Update after 6 months***Well I’m still very happy with this purchase BUT the plastic carafe is not indestructible. Mine has two cracks that originated at the upper rim and one is extending and becoming problematic. I’m fairly sure it happened in the dishwasher, though I don’t think it was jostled around or anything. When I do replace this (soon) I will get one made of glass and I will get a bigger one. The size was not an issue at first, but this coffee is literally so good that one big mug no longer suffices! One other tip–Starbucks will sell you a 1/2 pound of ground coffee, which is a LOT better for keeping it fresh. Be sure to specify that you want it coarsely ground for use in a press. Enjoy!***Final update*** [dropping to 3 stars]Threw it out. The crack grew–“indestructible” is a bold-faced lie! Can’t argue with the price, but less than a year is not a good product life. The new one I bought is a glass carafe Oxo 4-cup: Oxo Good Grips French Press 4-Cup/17-ounce

    Great quality
This is my second time purchasing this product! Years ago I bought a small blue one for my dad and he used it on all of his camping trips including hiking the AT. It’s lightweight and incredibly durable and many other hikers and campers asked about it. I bought him a second larger one more recently fir the home after he randomly reminisced about the “greatest camping French press I ever had.”

    Decent design, poor quality
If I had reviewed this product after one week, it would have received five stars. But after one year, and one replacement, and one additional purchase, I can only give it one star.Out of the three units, only one has survived and that’s because I can work around its flaws (at least until something new goes wrong). The main issue is the press itself. The filter section is all plastic and will likely come apart (break) after some time. I think I’ve tracked down the issue: I run the press through clear water in the “unbreakable” container and that helps remove any remaining grounds in the filter. The problem is the tight fit of the press creates more stress on the filter section than it can handle, especially when pulling it out. After some time it will come apart. On my last remaining unit, I only clean the filter section with running water.Secondly, the container develops spider cracks in the bottom center after a short time (weeks). This will eventually open up and leak. Bonjour now has a lifetime guarantee on the product but it costs around ~$6.00 to send it back and then you have to wait weeks to get a replacement. It’s a lousy way to do business, and I will no longer use their products. When the current unit breaks it will be the last one. I’ve already found an excellent replacement with http://www.amazon.com/GROSCHE-capacity-removable-silicone-included/dp/B005MG4AF8/ref=pd_sbs_k_4

    Pleased with product
I purchased this after breaking two of the Bodum presses (they shatter easily). It’s an improvement over the other Bonjour plastic press which received low reviews for not being durable. I like it much better than the Bodum. Both of the Bodum (3 cup) presses leaked a little from the bottom when pouring. This is perfect for ONE delicious mug of coffee, and I like the fact that I could order it in a color other than black.Note- ignore “3 cups” It’s 12 ounces and actually a little less since you can’t fill it to the top or you won’t be able to press.

Looking for something durable/worry-free for camping, easily survived the trip. But description/size was misleading. Was expecting three cups, you get two 5oz servings at best. Works great if your the only person that wants a cup, not a good solution for 2+ people.

    – Pricey!- It’s only 1 cup, not 3 – just like the other reviews said.- Clear plastic is permanently stained with coffee only after a month or so.- After about 9 months of 1 use per day, the plastic press broke. It seems despite daily hand washing that a film builds up on the plastic that doesn’t allow the rubber seal to glide smoothly and so the plastic press if stressed moreso than when new.I recommend this for occasional use if you must have a non breakable press (for camping, etc), but for home/office daily use, a glass/metal french press is a better bet.

I love this mini-French press and could not live without it. That is the reason I purchased one for the second time, in spite of its flaw.. The first one did not last through all that many uses. I have owned it for about 4 years but only used it for infrequent travel and took very good care of it, only washing it by hand. While the main plastic container portion is durable, the plastic lower portion of the plunger was not. It cracked and is no longer functional. Now I have a new one plus a spare container portion. The reason I still love my coffee maker and give it 4 stars is because it is perfect for travel. It is very light weight and takes insignificant amount of space in my suitcase. It allows me to enjoy my favourite blend of coffee in my hotel room as soon as I wake up. It only makes a small quantity (one mug), just enough for one person. As other reviewers have noted, “3 cups” means 3 tiny espresso-sized cups. I would not recommend it for everyday use but if you are a solo traveler who needs a dose of delicious coffee immediately upon waking, you can’t go wrong with this purchase. Just be prepared to replace it when its time has come.

Like the fact that this is unbreakable, but feel product is smaller in size that picture suggested
