I was deeply disappointed by my recent purchase of this Blue bottle coffee. As a longtime admirer of their specialty coffee, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, this bag fell far short of the mark.The beans, once renowned for their nuanced flavors and complex profiles, now taste remarkably similar to the generic supermarket blends Iâve tried in the past. There’s a noticeable lack of acidity, brightness, and overall character. The aroma is muted, and the aftertaste is flat.It’s disheartening to see such a beloved roaster deliver a product that is so lackluster. I would not recommend this to you if you are expecting specialty 3rd wave coffee quality.

Shame on me
Blue Bottle was once an awesome coffee roaster. All it is now is a brand name. I knew that Blue Bottle had been bought out by Nestle, so I should’ve known better. But I figured I’d give this decaf a try. After all, its so called flavor profile sounded interesting. To be accurate its flavor profile is singular… CHARRED. One shot of espresso and the bag went directly into the trash can. If you enjoy your beens blacker than Starbucks, you might possibly find these beens tolerable. But if you’re interested in a coffee that has a decent flavor profile, save yourself $14 and look elsewhere.

Lives up to the hype
We bought three different brands, based on reviews. Blue Bottle has great reviews on several sites and this lived up to the hype. It’s full bodied, with a nice finish. Excellent product, a little pricey, but a good change of pace.

Fresh and great tasting coffee beans
If you like strong espresso, this is a great option. The coffee has a really mild taste. It does not taste burnt at all like other ones. It makes great lattes and itâs a great price for organic coffee.
