I couldn’t believe this would work as indicated. I had to try and it works better than indicated!

I purchased this after our glass version broke. I was a bit apprehensive because of the price, but when I saw the sturdiness of the capuccinatore, and how easy it was to use; I think it is value for money over time. The jug steams enough milk for at least two cappuccinos/lattes, and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. I would recommend giving it a quick rinse immediately after you have used it.

ENGLISH (Voir français plus bas)Love it! But be careful, the base is only 3-5/8 in. wide so it doesn’t work on all induction range unless you put another pot beside. In my case that is what I have to do. Fortunately, it works very well when I put my Italian Coffee Maker just beside so I can heat both at the same time. If I only want milk then I have to put something else beside when I want chocolate milk only for instance.The advantage of having the stainless steel one is that I can put a thermometer inside to check the temperature rising to avoid the milk boiling. You cannot do this with the glass one.Compared to the glass one, the desadvantage with the stainless steel unit is that you do not see the thikness of the foam while you pump. You have to raise the pump and take a quick look which is very easy. But, this is much better than checking the temperature with the glass one in the microwave.Even though I have to use it with another pot beside, I just love it. The 2 mesh frother also allows to produce a nice foam probably faster than other manual milk frother with only one mesh.The cover is plastic, so no worries about getting your fingers hot while pumping. The plastic looks really like stainless steel. You would not think it’s plastic. Intelligently made.FRANÇAISJe l’aime beaucoup, mais attention, la base pour l’induction ne mesure que 3-5/8 po. Il n’est donc pas compatible avec toutes les cuisinières à induction. Par contre, il suffit de mettre un autre pot à côté, comme une cafetière italienne, par exemple. C’est ce que je dois faire avec ma cuisinière. Et ça marche vraiment bien! Comme ça, je peux faire chauffer les deux en même temps. Le seul hic est que si je veux faire du lait chaud seulement, je devrai ajouter un autre article à côté.L’avantage avec l’acier inoxydable est que je peux mettre un thermomètre dedans pour surveiller la température, et ainsi éviter que le lait bout. Ce qu’on ne peut pas faire avec celui en verre, car il ne va qu’au micro-onde.Comparativement à celui en verre, on ne peut pas voir la mousse se former en pompant, avec celui en acier inoxydable. On doit relever la pompe et jeter un coup d’oeil rapide. Mais c’est très facile et bien mieux que d’avoir à surveiller la température avec celui en verre dans le micro-ondes.Donc même si je doive l’utiliser avec un autre pot à côté, il va super bien. Les deux anneaux en filet permettent aussi de faire une belle mousse, probablement plus vite qu’avec les mousseurs qui n’en ont qu’un.De plus, le couvercle est en plastique, alors pas d’inquiétude pour se brûler les doigts en pompant. Et le plastique a vraiment l’air d’acier inoxydable. C’est à s’y méprendre!. Fabriqué intelligemment.
