Well built, not a thermos
I’ve broken quite a few French press coffee makers over the years, and I wanted to avoid plastic in any form, so I gave this a go. I think press coffee makers are generally the best tasting, and this is in keeping with that.Pros: well built, filter works well and is snug to the carafe. Keeps coffee warmer longer than a regular glass carafe. I love the metal handle — I can flip it and clean out the grounds quickly. I would say it’s the best one I’ve owned. And it was a reasonable value to boot.Not really a con, but while it will keep your coffee warmer, longer, not for hours, because the lid isn’t vacuum sealed. That makes sense, and no one promised me a thermos.It’s a keeper. And with the durability, I look forward to having it for a long time.

It is a solid French press that gets the job done. Its metal construction is durable and the box includes a spare filter screen. The double-wall design helps keep coffee warm, though don’t expect thermos-level heat retention. It works great with regular pre-ground coffee, and cleanup is a breeze. It’s the perfect size for my desk – I can just brew and sip while working. Easy to recommend.

Purchased “Used Like New” Came sans manufacturers box (bubble wrap/ a lot of packing tape) and all the extras were included (filters, spoon) Coffee pot was scratched near the lip but IMO, 0 issues w. order.Washed immediately, put it to work! Sleek, clean design. Lid fits so-so but does NOT come off when pouring… arrow indicating “pour” is nice. NO grounds in our coffee or bottom of cups. Coffee was delish, stays hot (not hrs) but pretty decent. My husband goes for French press coffee over perked if I have both ready! Once you try a quality French press – makes drip coffee taste like scorched gas station sludge. lol!!!Decided to purchase 2nd press for a wedding gift – not so great experience. None of the extras were in the pkg, pot was quite scratched. Returned. Ah well… Very happy w. 1st press! Overall, I’d recommend.

I’ve bought a lot of coffee-makers. Coffee is important to me. I’ll spend whatever to get that quality one-of-a kind taste to start another day. I’ve bought many French press coffee-makers too. Some of the so-called best are a disappointment. Usually German-made things are good. I bought a French-press that was apparently a German owned company but was not any good at all. The plunger didn’t fit well and so you had to press and press and then suddenly it would go down but spray your stove and back-splash (and my hand too with hot-water until I learned what a piece of garbage this “German” French press was and so gave it to Good will)…This made the best quality coffee I’ve had in a very long time. I wanted to be able to make two “Venti” sized cups in the morning and this is perfect. Two great big cups get me going. It is better thought out in every way too. the lid has a marker with an arrow showing where you rotate it to “open” and you pour out hot HOT coffee, and then you rotate the arrow around again to close it up so heat does not escape. THis is great and helps keep the coffee really HOT like i like it to be. the plunger goes down easily and SMOOTHLY and doesn’t spray coffee all over your stove and maybe you. It’s just better thought-out, engineered, sized, and it POURS cleanly….it is a great product and well worth every cent.Many said the black finish comes off badly right away. I haven’t had mine long enough to have a comment on that. I don’t know why they painted it black as stainless steel looks fine to me and most prefer the look of pure stainless anyway….But I care about ease-of-use, flavor, etc and so didn’t care that it got so many negative comments on the black color. No review complained about the great features that I also look for so I took the chance and I’m so glad I did because I LOVE THIS COFFEE-MAKER!!!Also, I’ve also just put a large fry-pan of water on simmer and place the French-Press on that and it really keeps the coffe piping HOT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! it’s value for the quality coffee you’ll get out of it.

A quality product with safe materials. The plunger is very easy to take apart for optimal cleaning. I’ve found that pre-heating the carafe with boiling water prior to steeping the coffee grounds keeps the coffee very hot for approximately an hour.

This french press is sturdy and well made! There are double mesh screen filters and the fit is excellent. For the past few years and the past few french presses I have been using a little strainer when I pour the coffee to catch the grounds. With this press I no longer need to use the strainer! I had forgotten that they were supposed to work this way! The coffee tastes great too. I was worried about moving from glass, but this one doesn’t alter the coffee significantly at all. And it stays warm FOREVER!
