This set is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. It feels great to use the whisk, and the bowl is solid and substantial and a great size for whisking matcha. And the little holder for the bamboo whisk is a nice tough, since it’s otherwise something quite delicate to have on the dish rack. Very happy with this set.

Solid matcha set, if all you want is a bowl to whisk in and then pour from.Bowl is thick-edged, which doesn’t make it ideal for Japanese tea ceremony, with a shared bowl. It’s not going to be comfortable to drink out of. It’s made for pouring into cups.It does not have the features that make a matcha bowl a chawan: the indentation at the bottom where heavier particles can collect and not be poured out, the indentation around the lip to help prevent spills while vigorously whisking, and a thin lip with no spout.Attractive glaze, some striking color options, and of perfectly acceptable quality. There are hundreds of options in the $25-$35 range, and this is one.
