Durable, comfortable, good size
I bought 6 of these in the fall of 2021. I’m looking at another hundred to donate to a facility I volunteer for because I like them so much and their current mugs are unsatisfactory.The mugs are durable. I haven’t had a single one chip or crack over three years of ordinary daily use. I use them for tea so they get a thermal shock of 200 degree water repeatedly throughout the day. No problems.They are dishwasher safe. I often hand-wash, but about 75% of the time they are wash in a dishwasher and they have survived just fine over three years.The capacity is nice. I brew my tea from loose leaves and I load my tea strainer to make more than one standard tea cup. I also don’t want to mess around making two cups of tea when I can make one big one. This is perfect for me.I like the style. The flare base is stable and attractive. The handle is nice when the tea is hot. I like the heft and hand-feel of the mug, especially on a cold day.Obviously, I would buy these again. They are my “go to” mug and I feel put out if I don’t have one clean in the morning. Like my cast iron pan, I cannot imagine breakfast without these mugs, as they are imprinted on me at this point. I pack one for long trips, for what it’s worth. I think that says something about the mug, or perhaps me, not sure. Both?Look, it’s a mug. It won’t change your life, but it’s a pretty nice mug.

These are heavy, seem to be well made, priced right, and I love to USA on the bottom of each glass.

Great except for the one that warped!
I love these cups. I have bought them at several different retailers over the years. This is my first time buying them from Amazon. Amazon is not the problem here. It’s the manufacturer. What happened to quality control and “Inspector 12?” One cup was badly warped. The cup wasn’t just a little “off” or “slightly irregular.” It was WAY off and very noticeable as soon as I opened the box! It was like someone shoved it into the box while it was still warm from the kiln! ??? Anyway, the whole set of six is going back and we’re going to try this again. One star taken off for poor quality control; and one star off for the hassle of having to return the set and reorder. Three stars for great cups when they’re made properly.UPDATE: My three-star rating is now one star. The second order worse than the first. Another warped mug in addition to, chipped rims, chipped bases, and unusually ruff seams. Of the six mugs in the box I received, only two were not defective! So, I Iâm done with Anchor Hocking. I will try a different brand. Hopefully, thereâs actually someone working in their Quality Control department.

Gift for Dad two years running
My Dad wanted these for his coffee. Perfect, wth even thickness as needed for hot drinks and a good mouth fit as you drink. Some reason he breaks them over the year so I didn’t have to wonder what to get (but we’re talking real dropping, user error not material defect.) Great product exactly as advertised.

Great Mugs – Right Price – Updated 5/15/12
Updated 5/15/2012:Turns out my boyfriend was very wrong. Maybe if I could have used a metal grinder I could have gotten rid of the ridges otherwise, no way. I figured I was out of luck since it had been so long. Lesson learned right? But doesn’t cost anything to ask so I sent Anchor Hocking an email and got a response the next day. I was very pleasantly surprised when they told me to send the mugs back. They said I would have to pay for shipping but after they received the mugs, they would reimburse me in 4-6 weeks. I got the replacement mugs yesterday – without the ridges. It has not been long enough to receive the shipping reimbursement yet. Overall I am very pleased.Updated 3/6/2012: When I got around to using 3 of the mugs I found there were ridges on the inside and outside of the handle and at the seam on the cup that lines up with the handle. I have not contacted the seller because my boyfriend says I can sand the ridges down and I really love these mugs so I don’t want to give them up. I will try to remember to post on how the sanding goes.Original Post:Anchor Hocking makes quality glassware. These are nothing fancy – just pretty (even good enough for company), durable, fairly large mugs. The thing I like best about them (the style and weight) is they are very “balanced”. I have small hands but they are easy to hold. They just seem to not tip unlike some other mugs I have. My boyfriend has big hands and he likes them also – big enough handle for his hands. These are very sturdy mugs. Throw them in the dishwasher, heck I have dropped them. The one sometimes fatal flaw is if you bang the top edges or bottom edges together. lol That will chip them – sometimes. You don’t spill your coffee but they are no longer usable.

My favorite cups
We have been using these for years. Didn’t have enough for company, so we ordered more. Great for coffee and tea. I even use them for my morning cereal. Last a long time.

Poor Quality
I like the glass mugs but these are poorly stamped out from the mold. Every mug has a line where the mold fit together. Some more pronounced than others. They are surely not smooth. I’m not sure I am going to keep these. See the pictures for the poor mold lines

I really like those mugs. Bought some previously from eBay but after years of use managed to break few so needed new ones and these are great. Quite large but we like drinking âbig teaâ in them. Service also great as received earlier than expected plus when one was cracked they quickly send us replacement with extra one in the box as well which I wasnât expecting.

The same mugs were available on Amazon from other sellers at 2/3 the price but I thought this would be genuine Anchor Hocking and made in the US.When I received it, was really disappointed. It was the same as the generic ones available at a much lower cost. Came in a card box box without any Anchor Hocking branding nor did the glasses have them.
