Comparable substitute for Kalita 185 filters
Got these for use with Kalita Wave 185 size pour over brewer when my Kalita-brand filters were running out. Good price and quick shipping!No noticeable difference in taste, thickness, or coffee filtration speed – they seem to perform just the same. The âwaveâ ridges are less rounded, more triangular, than the Kalitas, but sturdy enough to hold shape and not collapse when pre-rinsing or doing a pour over.

Kalita style does not a Kalita make
These are acceptable if you are not a purist about your pour-over. The best thing about them is that I am able to rinse them and have no chlorine aftertaste like some filters. Shortcomings are that the bottom of the filter is slightly larger that the bottom of the Kalita 185, so it does not sit straight in the brewer. I also find them a little more difficult to separate than Kalita brand. These are a much better price though. So, overall, a matter of personal preference.

If using with BruMate – too short
This is the recommended filter to be bought with the BruMate pour over filter mug. Please be warned that these are much shorter than the ones sent with the cup and you will need to pour 3-4 times instead of just 2. Look for the taller filters! Now I’m stuck with these until I run out and buy the correct ones.

They’re coffee filters alright!
These work perfect for the Kalita style insert on my OXO coffee maker. Are Kalita filters worth it? Not sure as you can scrunch a #2 cone filter into the insert and it seems to work just as well for a lot less $$

Way too small as a filter
Horrible worthless product. Not only was it delivered to the wrong address, after getting it delivered, I opened and found it was too small to accommodate ground coffee for even one cup of coffee. It was sent as a replacement for the bloom product that I have been purchasing for years – as they werenât available. I didnât order theses! I tried one and threes the rest in the garbage where they were a perfect fit
