The beans we use to make this exceptional coffee, with its deep, complex notes of red wine, blackberry, and currant, are gown on tiny, high elevation half-acre farms in the rich red volcanic soil between Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain range. Our exclusive Grand Cru mark designates a rotating selection of the premium lots, chosen at weekly auctions in Nairobi.

  1. For Me To Know

    Great dark roast flavor
I like dark roast coffee and I hand grind the beans. I’ve tried a few different dark roast coffees on Amazon. I also occasionally buy whole beans from a local shop that roasts their own beans. The local shop is expensive but it’s good. Of the several brands that I’ve bought on Amazon, I’ve only really liked 2 of them. This is the one that I’m going to stick with. Not too expensive and decent taste.

Great, Dark, Deep, Bold, Rich FLAVOR–90% of the time the beans are beautifully oily!
My wife and I love this coffee. Hers with milk, mine straight up.Great, Dark, Deep, Bold, Rich FLAVOR–90% of the time the beans are beautifully oily! One of our favorite things, a few times each week, is cracking open this back and seeing, very dark (not light brown, not medium brown), oily rich beans… and smelling the heaven coming out of these coffee beans. It’s rare, but once in a while, a bag if these beans will be dry, not oily. That’s life. It’s worth it for all the times they are oily and full flavored.Sometimes when we’re out we’ll try a new (expensive) brand of “French Roast,” only to open the bag and discover DRY LIGHT brown beans. WHAT? FRENCH Roast beans should almost be black brown… and NEVER DRY.

    Everything it advertises!
Perfect medium roasted coffee with visibly tasty note of dark chocolate and brown sugar. I typically drink my coffee black or sometimes with a bit of honey and hemp milk and so far this coffee is a joy to drink. It is a nice addition to my ever growing rotation.

    Full Flavor and low acid
I lived on a coffee farm in Kenya for over 10 years. If you like quality coffee it must be arabica variety, not robusta. Kenya coffee is grown at high altitude, generally over 7,000 feet above sea level. Arabica coffee is bold in flavor but not bitter. Growing arabica coffee is very labor intensive and the beans must be hand picked at just the right time. These coffee trees are pruned and often grow under larger shade trees. I sometimes purchase coffee from Tanzania which is called peaberry. It is also an excellent coffee. It is hit and miss to find Kenya coffee in supermarkets. But it is always available from Amazon at a reasonable price.

    Rico rico
Gracias Amazon

    Stale coffee beans
Beans were over 6 months past roast date. Didn’t have much aroma or taste and zero fruity notes. Not worth the money. Also much darker than a light roast.

    Best coffee!
We only drink this coffee and have been known to give a bag away when guests love it too.

Good Value Whole Bean Lighter Roast
More of a medium roast flavor profile and chocholatey vs a lighter roast flavor profile. I brewed with pour over V60 and clever dripper and I found that pour over was slightly more defined. Overall not a bad coffee on a budget. Its a safe intro to lighter roast if you want to show others what the difference is between big brand roasts and specialty roasts. Though I know this is not “specialty” perse. It is still a good enough alternative to keep on hand for those days you just want a good medium roast.
