The lids are not fully bamboo, but plastic as well with a bamboo “cap/top/cover” over the black plastic lid. Included are silicone ring that needs to be used to avoid leaks. With the ring around the glass opening, any flip of 180 filp, once opening if theres liquid inside the glass, it may shoot out (alittle). Fully upset no, but i would have wished the lid was fully bamboo and the silicone ring attached to the top instead of being loose.

I don’t know why people put one star reviews for these jars, but I am personally super happy with them. I was concerned when purchasing because of those reviews, but happy that I gave this product a shot as it didn’t disappoint. I also got their bigger jars and going to order more, as I still have a whole bunch of spices in bags. Jars arrived in great condition, the lid closed tightly, easy to open, comfortable to hold in hand, fits perfectly on the shelf. Couldn’t be happier!
